Mokroopal X-mas
Time?? I will aim to have the roast ready by 6:30 unless I hear otherwise =).
Please check Kress's post below...I added a few things as far as food goes.
If anyone needs to come by early to cook or prepare or just hang, I'll be here =).
Parking...may be difficult as I believe another apartment is hosting a party...so...the dentist may be your best bet. If you do end up parking there...call me and I'll come help you unload your stuff =).
See you soon!!! =)

Holidazed
Hola Amigos,
Only 2 more days till our x-mas party guys. I hope you guys are ready for it ^_^ I can't exactly say that I am. Everything has been happening so fast lately and there's so much to do and so little time to enjoy it. We all seem to be pretty busy as well.
I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday present Kressler, because I certainly tried! (^-^)b I know your birthday wasn't perfect and didn't go very smoothly, but I was glad I was there. I hope you're able to cheer up. Break is going to start soon and we'll all be in vegas just as soon. GOOD TIMES ARE A COMIN!
(By the way, those of you who saw my wrapped present for Kressler.. umm.. lets say you shouldn't expect that kinda work again anytime soon)
By the way, have fun in Texas, Patrick. You'll actually get to be on TV... that's pretty cool to say the least. I'm sure you're having a good time with Robert. Look forward to seeing you on the 23rd. When do you get back anyway?
Alrighty guys, make sure you update the drinks list if you change your mind or want something else. I'll see ya soon.

birthday blues
thanks everyone for a nice birthday....
sorry i was not more cheerful but i do feel tired, overworked and all of that stuff as of late. it was a good day, even if i did not show my appreciation for you guys as much as i should.
thanks for the great display of microbes albert! i left it on my desk today and my kids were either freaked out or were throwing syphillis at their friends. all in all, they thought they were very cool.
thanks lisa...for the lovely spa certificate - that lessened the massive dent into my wallet. and for all the music stuff...you're simply feeding the john mayer beast...but you know i love it all. and blue planet...hehe, i will have some great sub days at school because of those. =) thanks to all who wished me well & accompanied me on my semi-gloomy birthday. i wish more people were there but i am quite happy in my nice, little circle of best friends. =)
4 more days of school...hooray. the busiest 4 days also...boooo.

Kressler's Birthday Itinerary
Hello...yet again!
this time around it's for my birthday which is this sunday! i will be 26...please, don't remind me how old i am.
Here's what is tentatively scheduled for sunday...
* Brunch w/ the girls - 11:30ish? we'll have to decide on time/place/yada yada
* SPA @ pacific waters [hyatt] - 1:30 [my treatment is longest - 80 min]
* Shopping or resting? =)
* Dinner with everyone!! 6ish @ Macaroni Grill [leaning towards the one on Beach, off the 405]
so that's whats i's gots...stuff may be added as i think of it. you know what was funny too...today in class, as i walked around after my thrilling lecture at them to shape up & study, a couple of my kids told me that i should go to the spa to relax...and asked when my birthday was so they could get me a present or send me to the spa. i just laughed...i said i am going on my birthday and told them i'd say when my birthday was after it passed. i do love my kiddies sometimes...and they also said they had to get me a xmas gift cuz i'm the best teacher and i deserve it. i guess you can't argue with them on that one! lol =)
ok, time to finish dinner and grade and do progress reports and make a sub plan and finally pass out!!

funny story
two months ago, i had ordered curtains online and have been waiting from them to arrive ever since. i even sent a mildly angry email to inquire about them. on monday, i received a postcard in my mailbox from the postman stateing that i had been out and missed a delivery, and that i could pick up a package from the post office. i figured it was my curtains, and so, i put off going to the post office until later when i had free time. on friday, i was chatting with kressler, and she informed me that she had sent me a package and wondered if i had received it. she didn't want to ruin the suprise, but was concerned that i had not said anything about receiving a package yet. lo and behold, i realized that the package waiting for me at the post office was not my curtains, but an uber-awesome package from the mokroopals!
so the next day, i hauled ass to the post office on the way to the public library. i had thought perhaps it would be a small box with cds and such. quite suprised (and pleasantly so!) to find a HUGE box! phil had even joked, as we waited in line, that it better not be a giant package. we carried (or rather he did) the package to the library, and i had to resist opening it until i got home.
you guys are the most awesome ppls ever! the snacks are excellent during this study fest of mine, and the winter gear is muy excellente for the weather at hand! i especially, cannot get over all the pink gear (cards and a swiss army knife!!), but my nmost favorite ever is the T-shirt. i had seen the t-shirt online last year, but never got around to buying it. how did you know! gah! love love love it, and love love love you guys even more.
the birthday away from home was hard, but i'm happy to know you guys were still thinking of me. you guys are still here with me in spirit. muchas gracias!! =)
i will be home in less than a week! we will have to pig out as much as possible on KB and anjins. i'm totally dying here. can't wait to see you guys again. even if i do not see you on thursday, i shall see you on sunday then. until then, GIANT HUGS!

since i'll see you guys tomorrow, that means it's a short blog. =) good night everyone! =)

what i learned in vegas - november 2005
hey everyone...it's been a while since i've felt i've had a moment to blog. things are quite hectic and busy at the moment...a day of mental health shall put me at ease. =)
hope everyone enjoyed thanksgiving...mine was turkey-less..but i'll have it come xmas time =) i've never gone to vegas with my family, but lots happened and i guess it would be most fitting to say what i got out of this particular trip.
1) seeing shows in vegas - AWESOME! although a little pricey, i loved seeing david copperfield! we sat close to the stage, row a - seats 1&2. he walked past us a couple of times...and picked the girl sitting behind us to go on stage. this was quite exciting for my mom.
2) the biggest loser in vegas...my eyeballs! it seems to get worse and worse every year...but the hardest part about sitting & gambling in a casino is having my eyes dry out from the smoke.
3) always bring a lot more money than you think you will need. good grief - i thought i brought enough...i forgot to take into account how i'd be paying for transportation most of the time, snacks & food for my brother, not to mention paying for things for my mother. this was the first time i've used an atm in vegas...it did not feel good.
4) finding a wheel of fortune slot machine that plays quarters is almost impossible. i think senior citizens camp out at those machines...and heaven knows i do not want to play dollar machines. i did get a chance at aladdin to play - finally! i spun once...it was not life changing...but it did allow me to break even for that day.
5) walking stinks! i appreciate the value of walking, especially in vegas when there is so much to see...but after a day and a half of walking, i've had enough. i like taxis best...and the monorail was sort of cool too...except you have to freaking walk a long way to get to the monorail station in the back of the casino...hehe. you can get a 20 ride pass on the monorail for $20...sounds like a bargain to me when a one-way ticket is $3
6) aladdin is still the best buffet...but enjoy it while you can. aladdin becomes planet hollywood resort & casino in 2006...which probably means no more awesome buffet...how i will miss the creme brulee, flan, strawberry tarts & cotton candy all in one place...and i'm not even a dessert person!
7) wherever you stay, that's pretty much where you eat...which is why i love staying at paris cuz it's all good! most of our meals were in paris...yum!!
8) speaking of the paris food, did you know the breakfast buffet has like 6 different types of sausage? someone told me the paris buffet wasn't that great but i liked the breakfast we had there...that was good sausage, omelettes, pancakes & croissants! there's an omelette station, waffle station, fried egg station, & crepe station
9) NEVER, EVER go to the boardwalk buffet. my brother and i wandered over for a late dinner...that was the worst food i've ever had. we walked out after 10 min, eating less than half a plate...BOOOOOOOOO on you boardwalk!! the staff was friendly though.
10) apparently, a small box of oreos substitutes a meal at boardwalk...at least for my brother. for me, it was a pepsi and half a bag of chips.
11) utilize pharmacies & supermarkets!! load up on the water, soda and snacks there cuz it's a ripoff everywhere else...
12) the airport in vegas...good grief. moving through security took a long time...they put us in a machine that blew puffs of air all over us...good golly, what i thought would be easy turned into such a task
13) i love jetblue self check-in kiosks!! used it at long beach and it took less than 2 min. to get boarding passes...YES!
14) i think my stomach can only handle about 2 buffets...anymore, and it's a waste of money. my sister is a biscuit...she ate 1.5 plates at aladdin - come on now! there's a big pho hoa in vegas...i am for buffet alternatives this year...i am also for not gambling much and for being comfy-cozy in my room...playing games, reading & even working...i shall leave the drunkenness to you crazy kids out there and let me be old & boring.
15) shops at the venetian suck! shops in caesar's are much better! david & goliath is in venetian though...but luckily it is by the entrance so i don't need to meander through
16) shark reef at mandalay bay was awesome...but the walk to it was not.
17) saw nice, fancy restaurants walking in casinos...they're all hidden in the back where no one walks...but where we might walk if we take the monorail. i suggest going to one...the mgm, mandalay bay and bellagio looked like they had some very nice ones...a reason to bring fancy clothes - w00t! ooh...and TAO at the venetian...i saw a $150 kobe sirloin on the menu...that place looked & smelled very nice!
18) always use the hold button on the ipod to conserve battery...my brother forgot and couldn't listen to his ipod the whole trip cuz it accidentally played in his pocket all day.
19) i snore...a lot...and loudly. deal with it.
20) when your mom asks you to go to chippendales with her - what do you say? i said no...my sister said yes. *sigh* she also asked me if chippendales or thunder from down under was better. to this question, i have no answer...at least not one to her satisfaction. i thought it was really funny that they went...they came back unexcited and unimpressed. the fact that i don't want to see men nearly naked and dancing around...i haven't decided if it's normal or not...probably a little of both. my mom said next time she wants to see jubilee, with the topless women...lol. she is sure it will be much more exciting...and even i have to agree with my mother on this one...i'm sure it's more entertaining.
that's my vegas trip...hard to believe it was only a week ago. i thought having those 4 days off would afford me some rest...but it was opposite! i returned this week and i've been so utterly exhausted...plus w/after school meetings & trainings - i've had it...some of the kids just drove me nutty today...i just wanted it to end. when i return to school, i'm gonna just hand out the detentions left and right...unless i return in a delightful mood...then they luck out i guess.
ok, sleep time is now. talk to you guys soon...maybe this weekend?

update!
hello my mokroopal friends!
since everyone has posted an brief update on their status, i thought i'd do the same. i haven't seen you guys in so long! but fear not, home in 15 days! again, thanks for all the birthday wishes. i had a lovely birthday. it was a bit sad to not be home in california for my birthday and thanksgiving, but i survived my first november away from home. it also helped a bit that kaylah came to see me for a couple days.
for thanksgiving, my friend tracy made turkey, so i was not without my annual thanksgiving feast! that definitely alleviated pangs of homesickness. school is going well... a little harder than last year, but that should be expected. despite the extra work load, that has not deterred me from being merry (aka drunk) as often as possible. i've also been to lots and lots of concerts, due in large part to my friend beth, who i think is even more of a concert fanatic than lisa is! we're going to yet another one tomorrow night and she's trying to convince me to go to one on tuesday, though i think i'm going to have to pass on that one.
wow, it sounds like a lot of you guys have been getting sick. i did not get a flu shot yet this year, so i hope that my immune system will not fail me anytime soon, as finals are approaching.
looking forward to going back home, obviously. vegas, korean bbq, kressler's birthday, mokroopal xmas, snowboarding possibly... i get back on the 15th and i've already snagged kressler for korean bbq that night. anyone else who wishes to join is more than welcome.
i must depart for now, but good luck with all tests, academic exams or personal trials or otherwishe. you guys are all in my thoughts always. see you when i see you!

So yeah, what's new with me? Not much.. I've been sick for a week+ now with a cough. I think it's finally starting to go away. My thanksgiving was pretty uneventful, the family thing at my mom's house was half the size of normal.. and I spent a couple hours at my grandma's. Had some food, but not the requisite 5 pounds worth. Oh well.
Christmas is coming up, we need to start thinking about secret santa... gotta get together sometime soon :)
Oh, and happy bday Kim :) You're old!

Oh, and happy bday Kim :) You're old!
I don't want to think of a title....
The weekend is over so I hope everyone made the most of theirs.
Sorry to hear you were sick, Rodel. Did you get the flu? More specifically did you get the flu from me at Anjin, the one that Lisa also got, and that I thought was food poisoning? Mine only lasted a day so I hope yours was no worse. Sorry I could not join you for Honey-Baked Ham Bacon nor for Thai This. It just wasn't in the cards.
Did you have a good time in Vegas Kressler? I'm sure you'll blog about it soon. Especially about the bad stuff but you'll probably end it on a high note like you usually do. =) Did you win any money? Did your mom at have fun (which was the point of the whole trip if I remember correctly)? Thanks for lending me Memoirs of a Geisha, I'll have it back in your hands by next week. Can't wait for the movie. I wonder if Zhang Ziyi will be speaking Chinese, Japanese, or Engrish? Mmmmmm... Zhang Ziyi... but I digress....
Kim! Happy 23rd! Live it up, you only get to be 23 for 1 more year. =) Did you manage to have a good Thanksgiving away from home?
How was your Thanksgiving Lisa? Lots of good food and extremely nice Japanese people? I know it was especially important. I hope your aunt was able to join you. Ooh, by the way, I played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the playstation.. It's friggin fantastic. I'm sure your mom will love it when she gets around to it. The DS Castlevania won't disappoint I'm sure.
The best for last apparently... Patrick.. I know you still read this every now and then so this is for you. I'm sure you had a very large Thanksgiving so I hope you got your fill of turkey and other delicious homemade foods. Sorry I couldnt join you and Nick for The Goblet of Fire. I dropped by the house but you were gone already. How was it? I know you have time, so blog back eh?
And so you dont have to ask about my thanksgiving weekend, and even if you weren't going to, here it is. Lots of Turkey and food. MMMMMMmmmmm... Turkey Coma (induced by tryptophan supposedly). I also received my test score from the PCAT (the test I took at the end of October, not the recent one). Very Briefly: I scored in the 99th percentile for my composite score of all 5 sections. Let me just say this... w00t!
So tomorrow I will be driving up north for orientation at UCSC and I will also be looking for apartments. I'll be back on friday or saturday so let's hang out then yeah? ^_^

didn't really do much this weekend but be sick and work.
If you haven't been to Keane's Restaurant Thai This, then you're missing out. But i'm sure when you say keane...you go away from it. It was me, jack, cyncha, keane, and lisa kim. Oh, i was mistaken by her weight it is 160 at 5'5". so her parents told her to lose it before she can go to vegas.
I didn't eat much at all, if you are thinking Thanksgiving, but it's all good. Salad and soup for the win.
still trying to get nick ravn's attention on AIM. Stoneravn.

a birthday wishlist? UPDATED 12/2
herro again.
this was yet another reason why i was going to blog, but forgot in the last one which is why you get a 2nd dose so soon. my 26th birthday is coming up & i've decided that i will celebrate on my actual birthday [12/18 sunday]. i plan on the spa in the daytime and then a dinner at night
and i usually don't make a "wishlist" because you all know that just having my friends around is enough, yet it doesn't stop some of you from buying gifts and at the same time complain that i am hard to shop for...probably because i don't really want anything. so, in an effort to help everyone, i tried to think of some "chip-in" gifts of stuff i think i would like...and it goes a little something like this [from most expensive to least, not in the order of most wanted to least wanted]:
* sony digital camcorder [too expensive for you peoples, but it is on my wishlist because i plan on buying one before we leave for vegas...w00t!]
* motorola black razr phone [it's expensive, so don't really worry about this one]
* evolution dvd set (educator's edition - pbs) [i've wanted this for a while...and actually there are more pbs-like videos i'd like to have, but this is my most wanted! the teacher edition isn't necessary...just the dvd set would be more than enough]
* 1 gb flashdrive [mine is 128mb..and i like the one from costco =)]
* the blue planet dvd collection - from the discovery channel [i love marine life!]
* seinfeld - seasons 5&6
* microsoft natural ergonomic keyboard 4000 [not a true priority...i'm waiting for a black, ergonomic keyboard that is wireless - this meets the 1st 2 criteria only..hehe]
* spa gift certificate [I found out that pacific waters accepts spafinder.com certificates...which can be purchased at costco!! =)]
* alias - season 4, seasons 1 & 2 couldn't hurt either =)
* a nifty polaroid camera & film [i've always wanted one..hehe]
* random dvds: lorenzo's oil (if it's available - i show it at school), march of the penguins, mr & mrs smith, 40-year old virgin, schoolhouse rock! (anniversary special or science rocks! - lol), eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, beauty & the beast, alice in wonderland, mulan, lion king, lady & the tramp, saving private ryan, titanic, while you were sleeping, shakespeare in love, four weddings and a funeral, the muppets take manhattan [i know these are random, but they're either movies i love love love or movies i grew up with]
* john mayer stuff [like a b/w picture of him wearing a velvet coat and holding the collar up, or a john mayer trio promo poster, or a b/w picture of him holding a guitar & his head turned to his right, or ybiaw cd single]
* maroon 5 2006 calendar
* dr. bunsen honeydew & beaker plush toy dolls....or toys that have to do with science [biology specifically would be neat! =)]
* movie tickets...so i'll have a good reason to go to the movies =)
* gift cards for...itunes, ikea, target, american eagle, ny & co, gap, old navy, banana republic, office depot, virgin megastore, costco, borders
that's a lot of stuff & it took a long time to compile...if i think of anything else, i shall modify the post. it's sleepy time...so good night and good luck. =)

does it ever so suck that they are all weekdays and i have to work until 12/23? yessum. but that doesn't mean that you vacationing, "non-working" people can't go. those just seem like great shows and it would be a shame to miss out on something good when you don't really have to.
anyways, sorry about your tummyache albert...i hope you are feeling better and do not have dysentary. =) i felt fine after portillo's...except for the sadness after spending too much money on mediocre food...we should have gone to denny's.
hooray for anjin tomorrow!! i am looking forward to it...haven't been in a while, and i hope this unites us mokroopals again...cuz some of us don't seem to really hang out with the rest of us, if you know what i'm saying...and i think you know what i'm saying...and you know i don't mean kim - so you definitely know what i'm saying. =) anyway, time to lay my head down, get some rest and all that.
it's a three day week, but i wish that 2.99 of the days have gone by. i'm feeling tired, but i did not come to blog about that. i was checking the largo website, and saw some interestings things...that were actually open! hehe
12/5 monday = sarah silverman & friends [comedy]
12/8 thursday = jon brion
12/12 monday = greg proops chat show & wayne brady

Farm I see....
So I am not feeling well today. I think I got a mild case of food poisoning but I'm not sure. I feel a bit nauseous and that slight "I wish to puke now" feeling is lurking somewhere inside quietly. Why must the things I love hurt me so much? Actually I stand corrected, I did not love what I had. Suspect #1 - Portillo's, La Palma California, 11-20-2005. Basically the only suspect. I don't expect to get food poisoning from home because it only really happens when a foreign strain of bacteria is ingested and I did not eat anything I haven't had before at home. Other charges: Over-priced, not "all that", cheesy crowded fake New York Italian atmosphere (it's sad to try so hard and end up feeling like some over-commercialized theme park eatery), and false claims at greatness. There was a poster on the wall of some celebrity and it said "Your dogs are the best dogs EVER." This guy must've been a celebrity for being held prisoner in Ethiopia for his entire life. I've been to 7-11 and Costco and I've had a better hot dog. And the Jumbo size dog is actually the same size as the regular dog only the hotdog meat itself is slightly thicker than an average hot dog. The regular sized hot dog looks like a stretched cocktail weenie. No soda fountain where you could get a refill, so I assume you have to ask or you just dont get one. I guess the biggest crime is that they make it seem like their food is so good and great and make you pay like it is when really it's just mediocre. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't what you would expect. So restaurants beware, the best foot you put forward should be your food. Denny's has no pretense about offering great food, you have a feeling you're getting mediocre food and when you do you're fine with it. Anyway, I did find the strawberry shortcake to be decent but probably not good enough to warrant a return trip.
So like I said, I don't feel so great and I took two mylanta tablets but those didnt really help. But when I took it, I was much more careful about reading what was on the bottle, even if its just some very simple over the counter antacid. I thought studying for the pharmacy tech exam was pretty interesting and I managed to learn a lot in the week or so that I studied, hopefully, enough to pass. So maybe maybe maybe, if everything goes smoothly, in a couple months I'll be living by the beach in Santa Cruz, studying some interesting material, not completely dirt poor, and maybe work part time at a pharmacy as a pharm tech. Who knows what the future holds although it's looking a bit brighter now that I know more about what I'm getting into.
Anyway, I hope I'll be ok by tomorrow if not sooner. And I've already started thinking of my wishlist so I'll be prepared for Secret Santa this year and so you guys will have an easier time getting stuff for me. This post is already too long so I'll put up a preliminary "warm-up" list next post. Hope you're all doing well.

Putting my hippocampus to use...
I just received my PTCE study books today (Amazon is great). I'm actually pretty excited to have them. My test is on the 19th giving me roughly 10 days to study. My goodness, it's a lot of material to cover.
Anyway, I mulled it over and I'm going to UCSC for the upcoming winter quarter. I've been looking for places to stay. Hopefully I'll find something cheap. At least until the summer, since I dont know if I'll be accepted into a pharmacy school or not. My PCAT scores should be coming in 2-3 weeks so hopefully that'll be a good sign of things to come.
Back to work I go =) Hope you're all voting today.

Not So Weak Weekend...
Flying is fun. Taking off from John Wayne aiport is more fun. Take-offs are usually great as is just because you get that wonderful feeling of clean jet-powered acceleration. It's more fun at John Wayne because they have the breaks on, rev up the turbines, and slingshot you outta there. Makes you feel like you're drag racing in a plane. 10,000hp! I laugh at your pitiful civic! triple digit horsepower is cute....
Bursting through the clouds reminded me of the Matrix, and the view the rest of the way was lovely. So anyway, I spent most of Friday touching up on Bio and Anatomy review. The PCAT was at 8:30am. And not only that... it was easier than I thought >_< Another funny thing, the math and chemistry section seemed more difficult than the bio and english when I thought it would be the other way around.. *sigh* Anyway, to celebrate, me and roughly 16 other people went into SF and ate at the Stinking Rose. Honestly guys, if you like garlic... then we've gotta go. There's one in LA. Chianti is good, btw. After that, we just went out to a bar and drank. The Tokyo Tea I had was backwards too, the initial taste was the bitter after taste you expect from alcohol, but the aftertaste was sweet and tangy.. o_O? Not sure if they're all like that or just the one I had... Anyway, I also hung out with Nick. He's doing well and he'll be coming down next week to visit =)
Oh yes, I also found out I was accepted to UCI and UCSB. Still awaiting replies from Santa Cruz and Merced. Still have to send in applications for some Pharmacy schools and wait for those to reply. Hopefully I can go straight in but it's nice to have a solid back-up plan as well =)
The lead from Steadman at the Hotel Cafe? ;_; Oh sadness. I want to go. That's the day before Pete Yorn... Choices choices... Oh yes, and here's a game for you to play once you're done with the game Lisa suggested... Just Click Here . It's the type of game I would like...
I'll be home tomorrow.

truth in general.
Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties. [i think this is pretty true...hehe]
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true. [i also concur with this one...mostly]
Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person. [well, duh.]
The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates. [i may be sensible, but i don't have plenty of dates...for good reason of course]
Your views on education
You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job. [as much as i "promote" education, i am lazy about my own studies and work. i do consider teaching an unusual job...hehe]
The right job for you:
You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success. [this i have done.]
How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous. [i am afraid of failure...but i don't think i gave up on a super career and settled for something safe. i think that is only true of my family's view of my career]
What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you. [i think the first statement isn't true, but the rest is true]
Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long. [i'm not sure about these...i have no energy, i am semi-confident and i think i'm quite predictable...hehe]
*********************************************
i've been miserably sick all week and still am sick, although i feel slightly better. i even took wednesday off from school and i never do things like that. i can actually breathe now but the coughing is taking over...so terrible. so hard to teach like this, but luckily friday was an easy day since they were taking a test and now it's the weekend. i thought i would get some good sleep last night but i kept waking up every couple of hours and i woke up this morning at 8...so no good rest. perhaps a nap later will make it better.
progress reports are due next week which means i'm going grading crazy this weekend if i can stay awake. =) hope everyone else is doing better... =)

New Digital Camera Research and Picking
These are the digital cameras I want soon...one or the other

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16830150065
or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16830120171
I like the flip out screen & there's a bit more accessories in the canon package. The sony camera feels like an upgrade of Kressler's Camera, so it looks like I'm leaning toward Canon. 12x zoom is the yum. I don't consider any other brands other than Canon and Sony, cause the others are ugly.
I was admiring this only because it had a remote control.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16830120118
so yeah those are my choices for the next 4 months, sometime before New Years' hah.
how is everyone else doing?

My Quiz Results:
Your view on yourself:
Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.
Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.
The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?
Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.
The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.
How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.
What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.
Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.
Often times, I think these quizzes give somewhat generic answers that could apply to us all in some way or another. Maybe it does hold a glimmer of truth though?
Hope you're feeling better Kressler. And Lisa, I did comment on the last post, so maybe you'll find that useful.

teitur
he was most extraordinary at the hotel cafe...playing almost all new songs - they all sounded great! plus, i'm loving the hotel cafe...a nice, quiet, intimate place for some really good music.
did you guys also know that we missed teitur at the largo?? he was there on the 14th & 15th as special guests of glen phillips & the watkins family hour. booo...oh well. i guess we just need to be more on the lookout for such things
i hope everyone is well...it's monday and i'm exhausted. =) basically because it was nothing but concert fest last week and this week is work til you die week. had our 1st ocad mtg. today...went ok, about 8 showed up. giving a test tomorrow [that i still must make up] and back to school night is on wednesday. =)
i'm so tired though...must do my best to be awake and grade til my hand falls off. talk to you guys later. =)

friday assistance
hey everyone... =)
this week is "faculty" week at school, so all us teachers spend the week going to seminars, trainings, staff meetings & dept. meetings...the majority are really boring but we must do what we must do. i also found out today i'm doing bio & life science [1 section for now...but who knows what the future will hold]...boo. i hate having 2 preps...especially if it's only one period. i guess the good news is that i'll have life sci 1st period...the best period cuz they won't be so crazy, they'll just be sleepy. =)
so, you guys know that i had to change classrooms...and i was super grumpy about the whole summer! very frustrated to have to pack up all my stuff and unpack it in another room that still has no running water!
today however, i did get my keys and i have the alarm code...it feels like i'm a secret agent. =) i started to do some light unpacking....and i'm loving my new room. some of you may remember how the tables were all scrunched in and i could barely walk through the room...well, in this room that is not the case. i can have all the tables lengthwise and still have room to wander about...plus, there are 18-20 computers on the perimeter so the students can do research in the room instead of the library.
tues-thurs i'm pretty busy...and will have minimal time to finish my unpacking and what not. friday, i have one very short mtg. in the morning, but the rest of the day i have to work on my room. i'll try to have everything else put away by friday, but what i really need help on is the wall decorations. there are a billion earth science posters that are left up on the walls and no one wants to claim them...so they just left them up. i want my awesome biology stuff up though so i need to take all of it down plus put up my stuff.
SOOO...long story turning into inquiry - if anyone can help me finish setting up my classroom on friday, i would be so grateful!! if i get some help then i probably won't have to go there on saturday...so anyone who is willing and able, i thank you in advance! i'll even treat you to dinner that night...w00t!! =)

w00t patrick!
thank you, thank you patrick for my cd!! i will happily pay you for the cd that probably cost way more than it should...but i'm just happy you got it for me. yay!!
too bad you're not coming back until sunday...kim will be gone saturday. =( lisa's school already started - last wednesday i think. rodel & albert will start school on monday...and i have to start going to my staff development monday as well. we're all so busy - where did the summer go?
it's hard to believe you've been gone for 3 weeks patrick...you stopped posting pictures! =) rodel told me the others were posting too...but i'm too lazy to look up their pages, hehe. we all missed you too...sometimes we were like - is it possible to go to places like anjin or ruth's chris or claim jumper or the hat when patrick's not here? i guess the answer is *yes it is possible* but it's weird to do so. =)
when do you arrive on sunday? have fun on the rest of your japan adventure & a safe flight back! =)

two ships passing in the night
patrick! i won't be here when you get back!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm leaving saturday. sadness. oh well, we shall par-tay again when i return. there will always be time for that. =)
Woot for no reason!
So here I am, 4am, 5 days from leaving Japan and I find myself heading over this way. I miss you guys tons. We gots to hang out when I get back on Sunday! Gonna be another 10 hour flight *sigh*
I've had my fair share of earthquakes for a few years I think. 7.2 is hella scary when you're in a skyscrapper that is swaying back and forth. Thank god it was centered a couple hundred miles away instead of under Tokyo itself.
Albert- I got a new Porno Graffitti CD you may be interested in along with a few other jpop/rock CDs. Namie Amuro rocks, btw.
Lisa- School starting soon again isn't it? How's your classroom coming along? Sorry I wasn't there to help out this time!
Kim- Don't worry about me, I'm fine :) I'll be home soon enough and we all gotta go out and partay. Clubbing over here makes me want to go clubbing over there more often... goood times.
Kress- Guess what I got? :)
Rodel- Break the wow addiction! Stop now! I tell you that life is better without it.... I mean... uhh, look at me, I don't find myself with 5 hours a day where I have nothing to do (when I'm in America) .... okay maybe I do, but still! Quit!
Hope to see you guys Sunday!

aqualung interview
howdy...for those of us who heart aqualung, on his japan website he does a short video interview & at the end, there is some video that he and his brother took while on tour. it's pretty cool and here's the link:
http://www.sonymusic.co.jp/Music/Info/aqualung/release/index.html
ok, so the site is in japanese...so beware of that. and, you can't use firefox - you'll need to use internet explorer. if the link works [and i hope it does!] then scroll down til you see something that says *message from aqualung* - they have it for 56k or for dsl/cable.
apparently he did this giant music festival called the fuji rock festival...and of course it takes place in the fuji mtns. =) there were so many acts there...lots of unknowns but also lots of good like aqualung, the bravery, coldplay, etc. it was at the end of july...anyway, i digress. hope you enjoy the video if you choose to watch.
oh, and what are the plans for friday and saturday?? departure time?? =)
lisa - i'm glad your first day went well...hopefully the other 180 or so days go as well.
kim - workaholic! =) still feeling like some kobe?
patrick - i'm so glad that you and everyone made it just fine through the quake...keep having a grand time - we want to hear all about it when you return in a couple of weeks. =)
albert - we still see very little of you...but that's not much of a surprise since tara is here. =) we should all hang out more often.
rodel - my dear, you went away on yet another last minute family trip. maybe one day i'll be spontaneous enough to do that...hang out with me more, i'm bored! =)
ok, it's getting late...time for bed. =) a good night to you all...i heart you guys [and this is not said out of drunkenness! =)]

aqualung in boston...for you kim!! =)
i just saw on ticketmaster that aqualung is playing in boston on saturday 10.01.05 @ the paradise rock club. tickets for that show go on sale this saturday.. =)
and, for the rest of us in cali...does anyone want to go to the aqualung show at the henry fonda theater wednesday 9.21.05?? i know that weekdays are utterly terrible and i am slightly worried i'll have some terrible school event that evening, but i would be willing to take a risk and go. so, anyone feel like going? those tickets also go on sale this saturday. =)
as you can tell, i'm in a very aqualung sort of mood. he was most brilliant tonight at HOB SD. i think the HOB in SD is my favorite...it's pretty big, it's the cleanest...and the best thing about tonight's show was that it was ALL seating...and kim and i were front and center. =) he played all the songs on the cd, made up a song about san diego, offered up a little techno music on his "child" keyboard, teased us a bit during *brighter than sunshine* and he wore flip-flops...very awesome. the best part of the night was his cover of *god only knows what i'd be without you* - he said he grew up with it...it was his mom's favorite and turned into one of their favorites too. =) there was no signing afterwards, but the show was wonderful just the same.

mraz on jimmy kimmel
Thursday, August 25 @7:15 pm
If anyone is free that afternoon (we'll need to get there early =) ), I have 1 extra ticket to the Jimmel Kimmel outdoor performance. We won't get to see the show portion because we'll be outside for the concert taping, however, it should be awesomeness. I was only able to get 2 tickets...so if more people are interested, someone else will have to go on to 1iota for more tickets.

Hi mokroopals! =)
Hooray for all the upcoming concerts...*sigh* I can't wait!
If anyone is interested in watching a movie hopefully better than Stealth, I still want to see Charlie. =)
Ah, if anyone has Garden State...we can have a movie night too! =)
Just some thoughts =)
Hey, do you guys know anyone who has hyperstudio? I'd love to be able to work on my project at home instead of at UCI...=)

aqualung...HOB in SD
hiya peoples...i have the distinct feeling that you're all out on this nice friday night...so i hope you're having a good time.
i just found out that aqualung is playing HOB in San Diego on 8/9, a Tuesday. i know it sort of sucks to be on a weeknight...but i think he is quite worth the troublesome drive.
after charges and everything, tickets are around $15 total...they just went on sale today i think...so if any are interested, we can buy tickets to go. =)

moving!
don't panic...i'm just moving classrooms. they're moving me from my small, but new classroom to put me in a big, portable classroom. i have no idea how they came to this conclusion...but apparently it's for the better [although, i think they are severely downgrading the other teacher]. it's a longer walk for me to the restroom and to the office [i was so close before!] but my room is quite big and there are 18 computers in the back for the kids to use...so i guess it'll be a good thing. i still don't have official lab stations or even a sink...although, they *requested* a sink to be put in.
this means a lot of cleaning up, taking stuff down, packing up and...work, just work. i don't want to wait until the end of august to move my belongings...i bought boxes and i'll start packing in the next few weeks i guess. if anyone wants to assist, it would be greatly appreciated.. =)
meanwhile, i will just ponder what to do with all the glorious wall space and dread the day i start working... *sigh*
hope you all have fun tonight in san diego...and then in vegas for patrick and rodel. talk to you guys later... =)

holy monsters!
Gosh, it's been so long since I've been online that our Pismo trip has come and gone, I have failed to post a giant HAPPY BIRTHDAY to RODEL!, Patrick was drunk at 5 am, 3 concerts went on sale, I haven't posted a big THANKS! to the PALS for the ooberific TV, and I'm about to be an offline participant again for the next 5 days. hehe. ah well...it's amazing how much I really am internet dependent! hehe =).
So, I may see you at the bonfire today, I may not...if so...then, ok...if not...have a grrreat time, eat lots of marshmallows, get a good tan, swim and swim and swim but don't get swept away, build a sandcastle, roast a hot dog, wish rodel a happy birthday, and give everyone a big hug =).

too much thinking...
ok, so now that i've had a vast amount of time to think about things...sorry guys, i don't think a vacation is a good thing right now.
i don't have much money this month because of our concert frenzy...and even though i know i'll get paid for it all, spending my money before i have it is definitely not a good idea.
i think any money i planned to spend on vacation is better spent towards my car...the brakes are super loud and annoying, so i should fix them and probably get an alignment...and an oil change, and who knows whatever i else. that will reduce funds further [rather significantly]...so i really think a *vacation* for me right now is not a good idea.
you guys can still go without me if you want to...i don't mind at all. i'll save my money for vegas or boston or something else. or we can just go on day trips...or whatever. maybe this will force me to just work and get done what i claimed to get done over the summer for school.
this is what too much time and too much sensible thinking does. =T

drunken blogging
OGM! I almost posted this on my public blog, LOL!
It's 5am now, I'm drunk and decided to blog. I'll do my best to ensure that there are no spelling mistakes (i've already corrected about 15 of them :). Just wanted to post to say I <3 you guys. Can't wait for the bonfire! Omg, Final Fantasy on Thursday... Vegas on the weekend and Craig gets here... wow, busy times!
Rodel... 26... omg, you're old! :D Just messing :)
Kress... awesome m5 picutre :) bet you had an awesome time!
Albert.. omg, tell me when you friggin leave the state! Seriously, I don't know when I'm covering for you or when your parents know when you left...
Kim... whats wrong with this picture... I'm drunk and blogging and you aren't here! I hope you are out somewhere getting drunk :D Better prepare for vegas! Shot for shot!
Lisa.. hope your vacation is going awesome :) School starts again soon for you right, since your school is year round? Hope your classes are going well!
Anyways, thats about 500 spelling mistakes i've fixed, getting tired of fixing them to make this coherent, so imma stop blogging now :) toodles, love you all

F.McLintock's
check out the restaurant that lisa recommends...it's awfully MEATY but they give you tons of food and it all sounds really good. =)
pismo plans...
thanks albert for generously agreeing to book the pismo stuff. if it had stayed in my possession any longer, i would have gone quite mad.
ok, so even though we talked about this last night, i'm sure you have forgotten. we have an open window to go to pismo beach between thursday 7/21 to monday 7/25...choose 3 consecutive nights to stay (not all 4). depending on how many of us go...whether it is the 6 of us or more (martyn, craig & friend...or tara?) we'll have to get 2 rooms probably. i researched online for hotels...and a lot of places are already booked july so the longer you wait, the less availability.

i found the cheapest prices for the nicer hotels in pismo here...we liked the cliffs resort and the lighthouse suites (which had the 3 beds, 2 bath)
with more research on http://www.cheaptickets.com
there's lots of hotels listed here...i was mainly looking for 3 star hotels but we can look for 2 stars. anyway...the 2 that i liked here were the spyglass inn & the sandcastle inn...i think the spyglass was $149/night for 2 queens when we checked.
at http://www.classiccalifornia.com
it's a good site for all pismo beach stuff...they have a long list of hotels in pismo...and links to their websites or ph. numbers...one place called the kon tiki inn...it's not as nice as the other places i listed but i read online that it had very high customer ratings & it's right on the beach...you can't make online reservations but they have a website. i think they are pretty cheap so you might want to check it out...they also list a bunch of restaurants and other things to do so everyone check it out!!!
house rentals?
if there are 6 or more of us going [and it certainly seems that way], another option might be to rent a house for a few days. some places charge by the day and the prices are comparable to the cost of a suite...the advantage of this is that most houses will easily accomodate 6-8 people at a time...and this way we don't have to worry about getting 2 rooms. it's hard to find a nice house to rent now, but it's just another possibility.
my only suggestion is to choose a place that's not too grungy cuz we will be there for 3-4 days and spending a lot of time in our rooms...i hope you read this and it helps you out albert! =)

Not Right Now..
Sorry I can't make it for those dates. My parents are coming back the 28th, my aunt's family on my mom's side is coming to stay with us for a while starting on the first, and another one of my dad's relatives will be visiting as well. I also am supposed to be going on a trip on the 3rd. Honestly, I'd love to go (Driving on the 101 during the day is gorgeous) but I can't squeeze it in.
I'm the father, the mother, the brother, and the son right now.

lisa's birthday
hi people...
so you don't post and you don't respond to my messages. screw you [except for lisa, obviously].
by posting some mild(?) anger, i hope this will trigger responses...i told lisa about our foiled digital camera plan and have come up with an alternate plan of going on a short trip to pismo beach.
we've tentatively planned on driving up thursday 6/30 and staying until sunday 7/3. that's 3 nights on the central coast...yay. =) a trip to the giant morro rock & hearst castle might be nice as well.
so what i need from you people....i need to know if you are going or not ASAP. i don't want any "maybe" crapola from you. this will help in hotel bookings [which i don't wait til the last minute to do] and other such things (like maybe a rental car?). if no one can go...then i guess we'll just have our yardhouse outing on thursday or friday [6/30 or 7/1] and you punks will have to come up with your own birthday present for our lisa. also if this is the case, perhaps we can pencil in pismo sometime around late july-ish instead..because i anticipate the not going to pismo has more to do with the rushed scheduling and short notice rather than the desire to go.
ok, enough of my mild scolding and sarcastic undertone. please message me or respond to this blog...and just in case i don't talk to you before the weekend lisa, have a great time rafting. =)

LAPTOP
If i had a computer to bring all my music/tv shows/things to burn and rip, instead of waiting 3 hours for 1 dvd, i would.

Pismo Beach
Hey Guys. Magically there is wireless internet and we are at the corner of the street on PCH, which is dolliver on here, and the beach is literally two blocks away. The first day we came here and I took pictures while I waited for the next group of 4 to arrive. Then Headed over to a local fast food place and then ate some clam chowder and man it was good. The rest of the day was playing games and staying up, drinking was cool, but it only lasted about fewer than two hours. I didn't even get buzzed. I didn't have a blanket for the first night so I chilled my ass off next to the open window. Didn't get much sleep and then got up at 7 am and ran on the shore of the beach. I ran for almost three miles southbound along the water and the more packed sand. I got back to the house and the others were actually awake. The second day went again to the same fast food local place and then more clam chowder. The other people went to shop but I didn't bother cause I didn't have any money, nothing really interesting for that. Dinner was the bomb when we were served a mexican dinner, mostly chicken and beef fajitas. A load of food. We played some games such as guesstures and a game called cursed where you have to do what the card says, I recommend we get that game for some fun times. The whole third day, cabinet cooked some food for breakfast, an omlette surprise. And then kinda slept half the day because I was absolutely sore from running and as of right now, I have muscle cramps. Well in the afternoon, my group we in charge of lunch, so we went to Vons on Grand Avenue, and got $40 worth of food. Made sandwiches and went to the local park about a block away and across the street for some catching and stuff. Then for dinner, we have some Korean BBQ and some Filipino Chicken with rice for dinner. After that, Our club president gave his final speech for dinner. We made him sing "end of the road" on Magic Mic, and then we contined to finish the drinks. 99 bananas is absolutely horrible. And played one word story which ended up a bad story of perverted imaginations directed to our former pres. Right now, we have to wake up at 8 am in order to leave on time at 11 am, drive down three hours and then head to escondido for PAC Modern's last competition starting at 7 pm. That's all I remember, I miss you all and lets hang out next weekend.

tolcher @ the roxy
lisa and i saw tolcher on thursday at the roxy...and like i said before, it was definitely the best we've seen from him.
that week was a long week, and the thursday we went was no exception. after a long day at school, i went to get reprints of my picture with tolcher only to forget it in the car (cursed parking people for making us rush!). anyway, it started at around 8pm...but it was the longest show ever because we had to stand through 3 acts to see him. booo...
the 1st act...i don't even remember her name. she was ok, but she was slow and mostly acoustic, playing with a guy with a weird hat. next was a band named the J band...they were really weird. it was a mix of jamaican music, guitar and dj club mixes. it seemed to work and it got people moving...but you couldn't understand the singer. i will say that the mixing of just the jamaican instruments and club-like beats were surprisingly good. next up was carbon leaf...most people came to see them. they were good...co-headliners with tolcher. there's only a few songs i like from them, but the crowd was very into it...i bought the album and played it yesterday in class. my kids thought it was weird hillbilly music.
finally, just past 11pm...tolcher plays! it was late...i could barely stand. i really like the roxy...it's like the troubadour & the cane's...the stage is low and you can stand really close. but there's more room and it's cleaner than the troubadour. we were right in front...and it was odd to have him right in front of us. the place was only half full, which was nice...no terrible pushing. he played a couple of new songs which was awesome. everything was fine, turning out to be a normal performance...then he ordered a jager bomb for him and william. that must have definitely loosened him up...because towards the end of the show, he started talking about how he had his dancing shoes on and he can't let them go to waste. so he started singing a song about shaking your booty....jumped off the stage and started dancing with girls in the crowd, asking everyone to shake their booty. omg, for a second it kind of freaked me out to see him getting down with this statue of a girl (who was the standard pretty of skinny & blonde) but he moved through the crowd and danced with people randomly...it turned out to be a lot of fun and it was nice to see him so energetic. the show ended with him, tiny and william dancing again...by that time, it was past 1230. we bought some merchandise and saw tolcher in the corner...got him to sign and took pictures. everyone was having fun so all in all, twas a good night. can't wait for the next time... =)

HOWIE DAY IN CA!!!
Hello everyone! it's friday night and i'm tired...this past week has been horrific, having too much work and very little sleep. we saw tolcher yesterday...uh huh! =) i heart him. that was the best tolcher show we've gone to - i will blog about that later...the purpose of this one is mr. howie day
i have long suspected that howie does not like CA...cuz he doesn't tour here often. well, i'm happy to say he has 2 shows in so. cali.
Friday 8/12 at HOB sunset blvd.
Saturday 8/13 at HOB anaheim
i do heart howie day...i'm going to get tickets for both. who's in?? as soon as they go on sale, i will buy them [apparently buying over $550 in coldplay tickets has not scared me enough to stop buying tickets]. let me know...the sale date isn't even posted, but these dates were in howie's email. the opener is anna nalick....too bad the shows with howie, gavin & tolcher are mainly in the midwest....that would have been one of the most awesome shows ever. ok...so let me know. =)

Riddle me tthis...
Wow, there was a bbq? I left my phone in my car so I didnt know you had tried calling me. And yes, advanced notice would be nice =)
Although... I cant really go anywhere. I have to take my car to the shop to get my transmission oil refilled and the seal replaced. >=( My honda is supposed to be reliable! Gosh, I've been spending a bit of time and money doing repairs lately. Then again, it's almost 10 years old now. I had to replace my oxygen sensor just a couple weeks ago. Oh well, I guess I should spend some of my summer working on it anyway.

the holiday is over...
hello..
i guess thanks to patrick for having rodel and myself over for the bbq at your house, even though you were not awake for the entire length of time we were there. =) i understand that you need your sleep. it was still a nice bbq with all the house guys and a bunch of the union people too. sorry the rest of you did not make it...it was nice to hang out with those people we seldom see anymore.
while at the house, i did manage to create my test for biology and the notes for life science...which was the weekend work goal. less than 3 weeks of school is left and i'll be done. the possible good news? i'm not changing classrooms next year...bad for lack of lab space but good because i don't need to redecorate another room...and it might be all biology i teach next year. i certainly hope that is the case, although the final numbers we get in the summer and september may change my class schedule next year [which is very, very possible]. it also looks like i will take on the ocad coach position....unless things go haywire or mr wilmoth does an unimaginable job convincing me to leave my position....both of those are certainly possible.
just a reminder to you guys...
THURSDAY = michael tolcher...if anyone else changes their minds, i do believe there are tickets still for sale
NEXT TUESDAY = cary brothers & aqualung...lisa, albert, kim and myself....i have the tickets. listen to cary brothers on the garden state soundtrack and of course aqualung on their album. kim & albert: the 3 of us will have to drive together since lisa will most likely be leaving from school.
and to ALBERT...answer your freaking phone once in a while you mofo. now i have to give 1-2 weeks notice to you cuz you're a lameass who keeps his phone off and doesn't return messages/calls. i boo you.

nothing to do
the 2nd day of the 3 day weekend...and so utterly bored. i suppose the smart thing for me to do would be to do my schoolwork but i truly don't feel like it now. any ideas anyone?
SF pictures
i was watching the CD as a slideshow. it took almost 15 minutes to complete! we sure took a lot of pictures. thanks kressler for the CD. good times. =)

Out of the Blue....
Hola!
So I finally feel collected enough to blog. I think the last time I blogged was right before finals? I feel almost like I've been in an abyss of some sorts since then. Part of it was school and the other part was recovery from school =) Apparently some things have happened since then! But first...
It's always nice to be remembered, so it must have been very nice to have Michael Tolcher remember you. He really must be cool if he remembered you're e-mail and your name. Then again it may not be so surprising, I think being the Kressler that you are, you leave a good impression =)
Jeez Kim, you got to meet Quentin Tarantino and you talked to him casually? Only two words to describe it... Verra Cool.
Lisa, Do you ever get the feeling the Harry Potter books just get exponentially bigger each time you read one? Jeez they ballooned from 300 to 800 pages. I don't know how they're supposed to fit it all in just one movie. Do you think Harry Potter is becoming slightly annoying? Anyway, I do have something for you =)
Glad you're feeling better Pat. I think I might need to buy an XP home cd off of you for my sister's computer =P Is everything all done with version 4 now?
Hope things are going well for you Rodel. I'm guessing not too much is new on your end. Just tennis and the usual huh? =)
So..
I'm glad I got to take a break after finals. The several days away from home was just a nice breather but it is also nice to be back. I actually drove down the 101 from SF this time around. It's a gorgeous drive. We should all go sometime this summer. Anyway, I'd like to hang out this weekend so if anyone has time, let me know ^_^

Anyway, I'd like to hang out this weekend so if anyone has time, let me know ^_^

good food comes and goes...
hello people...
well, it's almost 1:30am and i'm still awake. grading those tests took a while because the short answer question was quite lengthy this time around and i had extra reading to do. they are done and graded though, so no worries there. tomorrow should be relatively easy...hopefully!! only about 3 weeks left which is great but scary at the same time. the school year is almost over and it's been a good year. but at the same time, the last 3 weeks could get pretty ugly cuz they are restless but hopefully it won't be so bad. i'll miss a bunch of them...it's odd knowing you won't really see students you've spent so much time with...hopefully the nice ones will visit me often and i won't get the repeat failures next year.. =)
so there's good and bad news on the food front. when you think about it, there's great food surrounding my area...i get such a great variety without traveling more than a couple of miles at most. well, one of my favorites is gone...TENHU. =( complete sadness...it's still a chinese restaurant but it's a different owner. we went there cuz it was good food and we loved the lunch specials everyday...but that is no more! booo....it's now called the golden horse...my family ate there. a lot of stuff on the menu is the same, but there is a different taste to it...hard to explain. we haven't eaten there since that day...oh well. during the summer, i'll eat lunch there but it's just not the same. we've been going to TENHU since i was about 12 or so...it's just odd that it's different.
the good food news is that the loft has opened close to us! it's on valley view...between cerritos & katella [the center with kinko's, wendy's and chili's across the street] w00t! really like the loft...although L&L is good too...each good in their own way. my house would be perfect if there was a long john silver's here again...boo on carl's jr. for removing them! it's becoming a fast food haven that i quite enjoy....in & out, rally's, del taco, el pollo loco, harry's, lucky chinese food, L&L, the loft, pho, and lots more...
well, it's getting late and i should be passed out in bed...this week is slow and next week will be busy. perhaps we could do something this week (like dinner?) or something this weekend....cooking dinner was fun - i guess i stand alone in finding culinary enjoyment. well, i'll cook for you guys anytime you like...ooh, it's my turn to pick the restaurant...well, whenever we can all go to dinner i guess i'll choose where. muahaha...anyways, enjoy the week and talk to you all soon!

tickets & sickness
hello all..
first a ticket update: albert, i bought you one ticket for ben folds/rufus wainwright/ben lee...it came out to be $48.20...i also bought 2 tickets to see michael tolcher w/ carbon leaf @ the roxy on thursday 6/2 for lisa and myself.
i think i will pass on the other shows....tegan & sara, rilo kiley and marc broussard...i just think it's too much for now, trying to save money and all, and my heart really isn't into it. we do have tolcher and aqualung in early june & ben folds in august though so that will provide plenty of happy concert times..
i also posted some maroon 5 pictures on my blog and am too lazy to put them over here...hehe. they are of me & lisa with our awesome crap thrown at us during the concert. =)
for almost a week i've had problems with my left ear. i went to the doctor on thursday and he said it's an ear infection....i guess i never noticed it before, but it got to the point where i literally could not hear through my left ear. and that's how it is now. the doctor gave me ear drops, and i've been using them for 3 days already but it's only gotten worse. my ear hurts more now and my hearing went from mostly deaf to completely deaf in my left ear so now everything sounds odd just coming through my right ear. i've also been exhausted this weekend and been sleeping a lot. i'm taking half the day off tomorrow so i can go to the doctor and see what's going on. how terrible it is to teach with limited hearing...grrr.
i hope everyone else is doing well...i've got mountains of work to do and little energy to expend. have a nice week everyone...anyone want to help me grade on friday? hehe...i'm giving a test. maybe we can all hang out this weekend or catch dinner during the week. =)

tolcher @ the roxy
howdy hey peoples...
it seems only appropriate to talk about another concert coming up. tolcher sent out emails and apparently he is playing at the roxy 6/2 thursday with carbon leaf (?)
i know lisa really wants to see a show at the roxy and i also saw that tickets were still available. so anyone want to go? i can buy them lisa...and, if you need me to charge any other tickets i can do that as well. =)
i'm going to buy the tickets on sunday...if you want to go, message me or call me by sunday afternoon so i can get one for you as well...if not, you're on your own!
times are busy...perhaps i will see you guys tomorrow or next weekend. good luck on finals to those taking them...and good luck to those who work during the week...and for those that do not fit in either category, have fun this week. =)
