ok, so i didn't figure it out until was driving home, but Lisa is so cute! she wrapped my gift card in a paper green apple, and then she put it in the martini glass to signify an apple martini!! lol, sorry i'm so slow on the uptake. hehe, i also noticed that in the scrapbook that you guys made for me, there was a signed concert ticket signed by liz phair. =)
you guys are too sweet. as always, i feel like i do NOT deserve it, but it's great to be loved. i love the cows, the shirts, the coasters, the cards (greeting and gifts), the picture board, the martini glass, and... oh yeah, the mini ipod. (HELLO pat and albert, no more expensive gifts!!! ^_^). as i was telling my friends, the mini ipod is so pink and pretty, kinda like moi ;)
kressler, we will definitely have a nice shindig for you too. i'll be back on the 16th and lisa finishes on the 17th, so we shall totally chillax on the 17th. oh yes, we shall have our online chat to discuss our xmas par-tay too. and we also need to get some vegas facts down. december = verra busy time!
my flight is tonight and i plan to sleep. yes yes, i am verra sad to go, but i shall be back in two weeks and three days... that's 17 days peoples. i'll be sure to bring back some bostonian tokens/gifts next time. remember, don't waste any good times :)

Hello! Finally blogging from the west coast side! The flight was alright, altho, it felt really long. I could only sleep for four hours, the middle seat being the most uncomfortable intention ever.
So I had an idea for Sunday. I happened to past by Ruth's Chris yesterday and was overcome with the desire for banana cream pie. Yum.... I dunno if I actually wanna eat there, cause it's so expensive, but the pie was calling my name. :)
It's pre-Thanksgiving Wednesday, which is the surrogate Friday, so everybody gets to rest and chillax soon, teachers and students and all. Happy pre-Turkey Day! :)

hi people....it's past 2am and i'm still awake. i've been suffering from insomnia i suppose. can't get much sleep - part of it is the coughing and such, but i don't think that's entirely the case. anyways, i was up to watch howie day on last call only to see that he was not on...grrr.. oh well. i just got the howie day special edition album with bonus tracks. i'm coming to really love howie...it came w/ an autographed cd cover. =) he's playing the roxy on 12/6...but curse it all - it's a monday!! i've waited for that guy to come to so. cali and it's on a completely horrible day to go...booooooo. i will think about it, but my better judgement says absolutely no.
i also found out he is playing a xmas show in chicago w/ john mayer....grrr. and in more john mayer news, he will be on kimmel 12/7...yet another horrid day to go and see a person get interviewed and perform. *sigh* it's fine...i will watch on tv.
anyways, as i couldn't sleep and howie was not on, i was watching late night oprah. it was her *favorite things* episode. this one was particularly cool...the entire audience consisted of teachers because they were her favorite people..hehe. it's the best show ever because every person in the audience gets:
a flat-screen tv
sony vaio laptop
$500 @ officemax
burberry cashmere scarf and quilted coat
d&b duffel bag
2 person getaway to a spa resort in AZ
$100 @ starbucks
mp3 player
electronic navigation device for the car
bubble bath & lotion
tea set & tea
lipstick set
williams-sonoma complete bedding (990 thread count!)
maytag washer/dryer and flat item drying center (for sweaters) w/ free installation
hand-blown champagne flutes
cardigan-pant outfit and jeans
watch by movado...
good grief...thousands and thousands spent on each person. now that's power...shouldn't oprah just take over the world now? that list of stuff was awesome yet saddening...good grief, there are people out there who can buy all that stuff in mass quantities. ok, well, i guess i'm off to bed...or off to stay awake in bed. goodnight to you all. =)

hi everyone...hope you all had a nice weekend. =) i'm still feeling ill but i think i will survive. by week's end my lungs will probably be turned inside out because of all my coughing. i hate getting sick because my coughing always lasts a long time...it truly sucks. i know i need tons of rest, but i have trouble sleeping....and my headaches have been a bit frequent.
it's thanksgiving this week...i'm quite happy i only have to teach 3 days this week. i do love teaching, but you need a break sometimes and weekends don't quite count. my district has only 1 non-student day throughout the year...i've never heard of that before. so basically, we're at school all the time and we teach almost non-stop. hopefully some days off will rejuvenate me and keep me from burning out too fast.
right now i'm finishing up a test review and notes, so i should actually try to finish that. in case i don't talk to you all until the weekend, have a great thanksgiving! i think my family is having thanksgiving lunch...hehe. lisa and i are going to see matt nathanson on friday and then we shall all celebrate kim's birthday sunday.
meanwhile, it's getting late and i want to finish...so talk to you all soon. =)

Hope Kress is feeling better =) Hope tennis was great fun boys =) Hope the LAN party was a success and you all had a good time =) Hope Kim is enjoying cold Boston weather and ready to come home =)
I reserved a spot for myself and 1 guest at the Matt Nathanson show this coming Friday. I may be able to call back and reserve up to 3 more spots if anyone would like to join me. Kress, are you still up for it? If you're considering...it's free...show's @ 10:00 p.m., but the line starts earlier (b/c I'm not a plantinum member)...I shall be departing from my apartment about 6:30-7:00...show is at the Hollister store at the Topanga mall in Canoga Park. Let me know =).
Kim!!! Sunday sounds good to me...just let me know where and when and the celebration shall begin =) hehe... woohoo for fabulous celebrations! =)

ok..so i feel a bit better and i have decided to stay at school the rest of the day, although around 5th period i'll probably regret that decision. my head hurts a little but it's not nearly as bad as it was this morning. even driving to school was difficult, but once i took my medicine and advil i felt somewhat better. now i'm starting to feel a bit drowsy but that's most likely because it's my conference and there are no students to keep me awake.
still projecting a no for the tv taping. i really wanted to go too, but if i go i think i will be completely miserable and wanting to sleep. =(
i found out john mayer will have a show on vh1...it's called *john mayer has a tv show* it's set to air on 12/9...and someone with cable better let me watch it and/or tape it!! =) it follows him on the road from the summer tour...it should be quite interesting cuz john is hilarious.
ho-hum...time to get back to work now. i'm going home right after school and going to bed! talk to you all later...

hi everyone...i know that this might be coming at you a bit late but i feel HORRIBLE!! i've been sick all week...i stopped taking airborne before i should have and now it's too late.
i've been taking medicine but it doesn't seem to help much...my throat is so sore it's nearly impossible to teach. BOOOO... some of my students have been so sweet and have tried to be extra nice cuz i don't feel good. =) i'm supposed to go in today but i'm feeling quite bad. i'm thinking of taking a sick day...at least half day. i think i can survive 1st and 2nd period
as for the tv taping tonight...gosh, i hate to say this but i really don't know if i will go. having to teach all week, my throat is killing me and i've been coughing so much that it truly hurts. =( sorry guys...
well, for now i need to make up my notes for the day...if i try to go back to sleep now, when i wake up i'll be coughing and congested for an hour straight so i shall do my best to just stay awake now. talk to you all or type to you all soon... =)
PS - you're welcome kim. i think everyone deserves a random package in the mail every now and then. =)

w00t! i'll be home in five days!! verra excited, altho, i was just home this past monday (for like, a day).
KRESSLER! omg, you are too sweet. i just got your package, and d00d, i thought u were going to send me a copy! you are too cute, thanks woman. it made my day. =) and the pictures were verra nice. i was just thinking about that too, how it was yours and rodels anniversary and all. rodel, are you wearing a lavender shirt?? NICE! i was waiting for you to come online, but it's late and i'm hella tired so i had to say a big THANK YOU before it's too late. oh, and yes, love love love the cow post-it notes. ^_^
the landlord has fixed the heat, i'm warm! good thing too, it's snowed a little last weekend.
sorry about the fits of anxiety and stress, am having a bad week. suffice to say, there's a reason why your resident cynic-and-bitter-bachelorette wishes to remain so for life. =) please please please, if you ever see me falling for a guy, just SMACK me. ^_-
so kressler was asking me when a good day would be for me to hang with my mokroopals, and i was thinking on Sunday, the 28th, which as you all know is my Bday. :) is that a good day for you guys? lemmee know, we'll have some dinner and some drinks with the dinner and it'll be a good time all around. mayhaps King's Hawaiian? oooh, or KB? oooh, Onami?? i'll have to think about this some more. hehe...
i have an exam tomorrow and i've officially reached the point where i don't give a rat's ass. at this point, i'm ready to call it a semester and go home. altho, i am looking forward to drinking tomorrow night. also, my school has organized this outting wherein any who are interested can go on this bus trip to the nearby outlet!! oh yes, outlet shopping, can't get any better than that. =)
later my dearies... will try to study a smidgen more before crashing.

Are you OK kim? O_O?
And yes, welcome to cingular, Rodel =) I actually like cingular despite all those people who complain about it. Unlimited mobile to mobile is nice, unlimited nights and weekends are nice too, and rollover... I've accumulated roughly 1200 rollover minutes. Haven't had too many signal loss issues either. So having a cellphone hasnt been the ugly horror story that it could've been =)
I heard you're playing EQ2 now Rodel. How is it?(especially now that you've gone broadband). Are you going to the LAN party on friday? It's definitely been a while since the last one. I'm sure my computer will be up for the challenge =) 800mhz of GLORY! I probably need to go out and buy half-life 2 now though, and I'm pretty sure I can run hl2 if I can run Doom3.
Wow Kressler, I never knew that song had a music video. I definitely liked the song when i heard it on the radio but I wish more people had listened to it or that it got more airtime. The video certainly has a lot more impact and I think the message couldn't be any clearer which is probably why it didn't seem to get much publicity.
Enjoying your vacation Lisa? =)
So hows half-life 2 pat? Oh yeah, I'm callin dibs on Mark's infect monitor for the lan since I dont wanna bring my somewhat big monitor. I'm sure all the stuff you brought from the office will come in handy for the lan. Let me know if you need some help preparing for it. I've done a bit of preparation for it already =) I've folded the IDE cables inside my case and I've tidied up some of the other wiring, I've also reduced noise quite a great deal for my computer. Nick's computer won't be anywhere near as loud and obnoxious as it used to be since I gave him a new cpu fan as well, although he might put it back on just for the lan. =P
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. My mom is back from Vietnam and I did manage to clean up a great deal around my house. I don't perform miracles but I think i was pretty damn close =) The cleaner my house got, the dirtier my room got though. It was a disaster area (even pat would think it was messy) for a while although it's a bit more tolerable now. I'm off to go study roughly 150 pages worth of material for my midterm tomorrow, hopefully my flash cards and notes come in handy. Wish me luck =) And sorry for the long-winded hello.

hello...this is courtesy of jesse [maroon 5]
http://mosh.eminem.com/video/
i am not the biggest eminem fan, but i found it quite enlightening. people surprise you sometimes...
last night i went to midnight madness at our school...it was basically like a giant pep rally at night to promote the new basketball season. they were throwing t-shirts, candy and other stuff into the crowd...had games, gave away certificates and let people take half-court shots for a new mountain bike. the closest contestant was this 7 year old boy...his first shot was close and we all cheered him on to make a 2nd shot. they told him he could go closer but he stayed at half court....his 2nd shot rolled in and out...so sad! it was pretty cool i think...but i was quite tired.
still haven't heard from you people about breakfast tomorrow...but if you do decide to come, let us know so we can make a breakfast reservation....calling or messaging would be best now. =) have a lovely day everyone.

Maroon 5 playing in vegas on new year's day!!....and we're leaving that afternoon. that makes me quite sad...
that would've been awesome to see them...damn it. stupid school districts starting on the stupid monday right after new year's....

hahahaha albert! I think you're the one that sounds like you ;) hehe...but thanks, i think =).
guys...i don't know what's gotten in to me...i've become a freakin vegetable today! hehe...hopefully tomorrow i'm more productive...i didn't do anything since I've been home except do dishes (finally) and surf the web. While I still can find nothing out about the Maroon 5 Troubadour pictures, I have discovered that there is a humongous possibility that Maroon 5 will be playing at Aladdin on New Year's Day. *sigh* I think we shall just miss them. Ah well...life works in mysterious ways.
If anyone is interested, you might want to enter the Michael Tolcher contest, they're drawing one name in 2-3 weeks for him to play in your living room!!!!! =) hehe...of course i entered the day they posted the contest ;). If you need answers, let me know ;).
Duncan...I ordered the lyric book from the website and it cost $25 for this ity bity little paper booklet but....here's the great redeeming quality...he SIGNED IT!!! It's a real signature b/c i can see the sharpie through the paper and...it says, "TO LISA BIG KISS" hehe =). Now that's a nice surprise =). *sigh*
Hope alls well everyone! =) hooray for umm...good music, good friends, good fun, good times =).

Awww... our teacher gal on the west coast is becoming tech savvy *tear* lol.. yeah.. thats totally not an albert sentence =) Anyway, it doesnt change the fact that it does warm my heart... You bought a 19" inch Sony LCD.... my goodness... you have no idea how good that is to hear. Those things are gorgeous... and its big! 19 is not for the weak at heart =) New hard drive and DVD-RW as well.. wow, you might as well get a new computer... In fact, you seem like you're almost halfway to a new computer with all the parts you're getting. Hmmm.... it'd probably take another 400 bucks to have a totally new system. Anyway, I hope the new hard drive is a seagate because western digital = decent, seagate = so great. But my goodness... if you're gonna get a DVD burner get a plextor. They have one at newegg.com for $67 after a $30 mail in rebate... It's a 12x and Plextor makes some of the best optical drives out there. It's really a steal.. I'm tempted to buy one myself although I have absolutely zero use for it except to reduce drive clutter (I have a cd-rw drive and a separate 16x DVD drive which only reads and doesnt burn). I've done my homework =)
Kim, goodness gracious, i can't believe they rejected your california id. It's probably one of the most elaborate state id's out there. What kind of idiot would make such an elaborate fake id? I think its funny that they thought the california id was so weird that they wouldnt accept it. A lot of times you can tell the difference between a fake id and a real one just by feeling the quality of it. Oh well, you were right to leave that place and head to another bar =) Also very happy you got your wireless router working ^_^ I cant belive you were hungover and managed a 100%.. Are you really that goood? or is Boston the kinda school that would make me very happy if I were a student there?... Besides that, the person telling us to not work too hard is the same person who managed to graduate from UCI in less than four yours... Methinks you're more peculiar than meets the eye =)
Lisa, only you could manage to be the way you are... and you can take that as a compliment. I read the first couple words of your entry and new it was you who wrote it. And you are correct, I did not drink any. I had an okay time, it was certainly interesting to see roger get totally blasted. It was the first time I actually witnessed him in his drunken state. I think Pat will let you know that he managed to hold all that liquor but just barely.
Yeah, Pat. Your alcohol tolerance has been going up and up since you first got started drinking. It's almost frightening. At this rate it seems like you'll have the highest tolerance in the group, oddly enough, those 3 people being vietnamese. Although, I'm sorry Pat, but you're the rambling drunk. Thats the type of drunk you are. Rodel seems to be the sleepy drunk, lisa is the super giddy drunk, kressler is a mildly giddy drunk, kim is the wildly happy drunk, and I'm more of the morning-after-innuendo next-to-zero-effect drunk (at least from what I can tell so far). Yeah, a lil less of that liquid courage for you =) I think you had a bit more than you needed to be well-buzzed.
I'm sure you had fun getting to run around finding parts to buy for Kressler huh Rodel? =) Hehe, I know you enjoy a good romp at a technology store as much as I do. I hope you're enjoying your internet connection as well. Anything new with you?
As for me, nothing much new, it's just life as usual =)

Aww, our little party gal over on the east coast is tearing it up *tear*...i'm so glad you're showing everyone how much fun they really can have ;).
Patrick! I guess you had a good time =). hehe...who knew you could hold so much liquor! Albert...any drinking out of you? I'm guessing not, but I'm sure you had a blast anyhow ;).
Kress hope the grading is going well...i'm sorry i'm not there helping right now! Unfortunately my homework is taking longer than i anticipated! I ate dinner and showered, thinking homework would be a cinch...not! Hehe, we have extra b/c we get Thursday off for the holiday, so I'm now sitting here, trying to understand this crazy algebra pattern stuff.
Rodel, any crazy partying for you lately? =) hehe
Kress and I have a ticket for Tolcher w/Everclear on Thursday December 2 (it's right in between the Sondre shows) at the Anaheim HOB. If anyone wants to join us, you can buy tickets from ticketmaster online, they were about $40.
We have to get together to talk about X-mas and such soon...maybe dinner this week sometime? Kim...what days will you be in Mammoth?

hi hi! sounds like pat and albert had oodles of fun! wish i could've been there. :)
a friend and i went to an 80s dance at harvard on saturday night. it was great! i only did a side pony tail and my friend only crimped her hair, but all the harvard folks dressed up like nuts! there were girls in leg warmers and off-the shoulder t-shirts, as well as guys with sunglasses and jean jackets or sports coats with the collar popped up. i forgot how hot guys look like that. i was like, omg, you are SO micheal j. fox right now. hehe, plus the great 80s music (footloose, madonna, etc.) the whole thing was a blast.
another week begins today (boo mondays!). don't work, study, or teach too hard, but always play hard. ;)

Kressler, let me recommend for the DVD drive, there is a LiteOn DVD-RW drive that is somewhere around $80. Really good deal. Probably do some searches on pricewatch.com and you (or Rodel) can find it. Sorry I wasn't able to help with papers today Kress, but I am still out of it and don't think I would be much help.
So I just got home a little bit ago from Roger's bday party and sleepover at Leah's place. I have to say that it was awesome. I bet Albert remembers more about the night than I do, because I drank more than I ever have before. I had 3 shots of whiskey, 2 shots of 151, 1 liquid cocaine, 1 rasberry vodka, 1 smirnoff, some drink that Leah gave me (no idea what it was, sorta strong), a couple swigs out of a champagne bottle, and half a pepsi ;-). At least thats what I can remember, there may have been more. When we were finally leaving the club around 2am, I had to hold onto Rick's shoulder so I wouldn't fall down. No puking though, just lots of fun :-D Man was I drunk though..
I'd have to say that I almost forgot how much fun clubbing can be, actually I never mixed alcohol with clubbing before... it's cah-ray-zy. From what I remember, I danced for like 3 hours straight (and didn't give a crap that I'm a horrible dancer), and I think I probably significantly embarrassed myself on the way home in the limo. To some degree I was the night's entertainment. Let's just say that alcohol makes your confidence level go through the roof. I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves when everyone gets to see them.
Woke up this morning after about 5 hours of sleep. Apparently I was still drunk, and I can still barely feel the effects of the alcohol even now. We went to Roscoe's (mmm!! Guy's morning out, take that Lisa and Kressler! (sorry Rodel :-p)). I got maybe another hour of sleep sometime during the day at Leah's place, and we all watched a couple movies on TV. Good times, most definitely. Special thanks to Albert for being Mr. designated driver, even though we spent the night at Leah's anyway :-)

howdy all...well kim, that sort of sucks...but that's ok. it's good to at least look young... =)
so yeah, remember how i bought a nice, new 17" LCD panel monitor...so that was a piece of crap!! i got it from costco...less than a month later, the screen goes randomly blank, overheats and burns out. boooo....!!!
so no more dealing with crap...i returned it and got my full money back. and i didn't want to do this, but I did. i went to the store of evil...FRY'S. good gracious i hate that store!! but they have a lot of quality monitors there...so i went. my mindset was aimed at a decent 17" monitor of a reputable brand... and now, i am typing to you guys on a SONY 19" monitor...muahaha. =) this thing is bigger than my tv. ok, it did cost a bit much and there is a rebate involved....but after the rebate, it's only about 100 more for a bigger screen plus it's a sony. =) this makes me quite happy unless this one breaks down and if that does happen i will go on a roaring rampage of revenge. =) but i think this will be good....
as we speak, rodel is buying me another hard drive and a dvd-rw to put in my little ghetto computer. =) you would think that with me being a girl and making some money i'd spend it all on clothes and what not...but i haven't...been spending on all these new technology gadgets...it's sort of neat. =) anyway, still got a mountain of grading to get done...anyone who would like to help, give a ring.. =)

get this, i tired to get into a bar last night and they wouldn't let me in because they didn't believe that my ID was real. OMG. it was the most retardest and lamest thing ever. i just looked at the guy like, are you f-ing serious?? so one of my friends, who's really good at cajoling people, was trying to convince the manager to let me in. the manager, who was infinitely 10x nicer than the dick of a bouncer, looked at my ID but apologetically said he didn't know if it was real or not so he couldn't let me in. he asked if calif had new IDs or something because they looked weird, to which i replied, that's what a calif ID looks like because it IS a calif ID! anyways, at that point, i didn't even want to go to that bar anymore anyways because i was totally offended and i wasn't about to spend all of my money on their alcohol when i could go to another bar where they would accept my ID, no questions asked. the bouncer mostly ticked me off because he was being such a jerk about it, like he thought he was some kind of genius for catching a fake ID. i feel like going home, getting my birth certificate and old ID and shoving it up his ass.
besides that fiasco, i did have a good time last night. the area we were in, fanueil hall, has tons of bars, so we just moved on over to the next closet one. drinks were ok, but kind of expensive. i had a fun time, which was all that mattered. although, i was fearful that the bouncer at this place was going to reject me as well, but of course, he let me in, no problems.
halloween was oodles of fun. we were drunk and merry. the day after halloween, i had an exam to take and i was wickedly hungover, not to mention i hadn't studied for the exam at all. i got the test back yesterday and i scored 100%!! ha! take THAT, people who say alcohol kills brain cells. :)
i hope the yard house was fun. good news, my wireless router works! just took another day of tinkering around with. my hand was stamped last night with the word "foxy", and aside from winking because of a mraz connection, i urge all of you to be foxy tonight. hasta my dears ^_-

well, at least voting at the polls was a fun experience =)
Albert...my tennis competition has long passed ;) however, practice would still be nice =)
Anyone up for Yard House Friday night? hehe...it's my track-off day and i'll be ready to celebrate or pass out or something!!! =) hehe
I got my pictures back from Costco! hooray! hehe...i posted about them being lost on my blog. Yes, they were found, so I have now resolved never to return to the Fountain Valley Costco for processing...especially on the weekend! Tolcher is now sitting by my computer until I can get a frame...*sigh*. hehe...twas great times =).
Countdown to track off...2 days!!!!! =) hehe...woohoo! =)

Well, it has certainly been a roller coaster these past couple weeks....
My car is fixed now so I don't have to drive the other green honda accord ex in the family (Mom's Car). It did cost a pretty penny but a lot was done to it. Since the oil seal broke, oil got on the timing belt. So the timing belt had to be changed along with the seal. Well, when you change the timing belt it's convenient to change the water pump as well since you've already done the work necessary to do so. When you change the water pump, you have to change the radiator fluid (that's really chump change). I got new spark plugs as well. So yeah, a slew of things were changed and the cost came out to be 350. It would've been 250 if not for the water pump but the old water pump had been on there for about 116,000 miles... so hey, why not? It's usually 150 to change just the water pump. Anyway, I'm just happy I can drive my car again.
We now also have 4 more years. I havent been so stressed in a while. Now, I'm just disappointed but cest la vie. At least George W. Bush can never be president again. Well, not unless he runs as Vice President with someone else, and after that person wins, he kills them off. 0_O? Cheney-Bush 2008?!
Well, other than the Fate of The Nation being decided for the next 4 years and beyond, and me being reconnected to one of my favorite hobbies, not much is new. Got a haircut, cleaned my room, did laundry, working on cleaning my house, get to build another computer (not for me though), half-life 2 coming later this month, but like the radiator fluid, it all feels a bit like chump change.
Anyway, I hope you pick up your phone sometime rodel, hopefully your car will be ok after you get those tires on and I hope you like those shirts pat, hope you get practice for that tennis tourney lisa, hope you're not so tired kress, and hope you got your wireless routing going kim.
Hope is perhaps the most important form of speculation.
By the way, Ling Ling rocks.
