HELLO!!!! hi everyone...i am so excited, you do not even know!! today is KRESSLER'S BESTEST DAY EVER!! and i mean EVER!!
i just came back from the john mayer video shoot...so freakin' awesome!! ok, so i have to start from the very very beginning...so i leave just over an hour before i'm supposed to be there, and of course i hit the worst traffic ever. they decided to close the 605 north just there it hits the 5 fwy, so everyone who was on the 605 now has to get to the 5, in addition to the traffic on the 5...so it takes me over 30 minutes to get from 605 to 5 on ramp...from then on it wasn't so bad, except it's now 11:50 and i have to be there at 12...but luckily i made it there just in time. i signed in, showed them my ID, they made me sign a release and took a polaroid of me. after that, we all walked over to another location. let me tell you guys, it was in the ghetto. i mean, 7th street was just crap. and we walked a couple of blocks down...ooh, i also have to tell you that they closed off part of 7th street too...we thought it was for john's video..to look like new york cuz of the cabs there but it was actually for spiderman. =) ok, so back to mayer...so they take us to the location, we empty our pockets and go through the metal detectors, and they sit us in chairs under tents. so this was at 12...and we sat there until 3pm!! it was so freaking long and so hot outside, but i still had a fun time. i sat next to this girl who was just so great..so nice and we talked for the entire time. anyways, she goes to usc but is on vacation and she drove up from san diego...she was a tall, blonde girl and that is significant later on...hehe. so we were the fan club, but a group about the same size as us came later...they were paid extras, who got to be in more scenes and paid $150 each, and were given lunch...not the fan club. hehe...we were free and hungry...they gave us water and some snacks though. so yeah, so a guy sitting close to us says his aunt is the person who runs the agency for the extras...that was exciting. so he told us a little about the video and stuff...and then some guys from the fan club, well one of them brought a guitar, so they took it out and they started playing john's songs on guitar and singing...so i sang a long a little...that was so cool. they played why georgia, comfortable, my stupid mouth, st. patrick's day, sucker, love soon, man on the sideand back to you...so at this point we are still waiting. then at 3pm they finally tell us to get up and move out...
the video is for his new single to be released from his album called "bigger than my body" ...we are spaced out in an alley. ok, here's where the blonde significance comes in...so the girl, whose name is lauren smith, is standing next to me in the back of the alley...well one of the people in charge is wandering about, sees her and says i'm going to put you in the front next to john...booo. actually, they picked out all the pretty blonde girls and circled them around john...so i had to stay in the back while she was next to him. so in this scene, we are spaced out but we start walking towards the music so we form a line to walk through this fake fence. so i didn't walk through the fence til the last take. so almost all of the scenes were us in the alley, some have john in the midst of the crowd and so on. there's a lot of the people walking, standing, holding up their arms [like at a concert] then putting them down and staring off in wonderment. so yeah, in just about every scene that had john in it, i was no where close to him...and so i started to really doubt i would talk to him, but at that point just seeing him up close was cool enough for me. towards the end of the shoot, i saw him sitting in chairs with people, some some pink girl was talking to him so i didn't want to just walk up...but i was a little sad cuz i knew it was getting late and i had no chance to talk to him at all.
sooo, this is where it all turns around guys. it's the last scene we're shooting...it's past 7:30. in the scene, i'm standing in the crowd but i notice they put the microphone stand near me. john walks up with his guitar and is waiting for the scene to start. they moved the camera high so they can get a view looking down on the crowd...so john is standing right next to me. he was tired, it was a long day and he looks exhausted. he was looking straight ahead mostly, but when he turned and looked in my direction, i smiled at him. he smiled back at me and said "hi." so i smiled and said, "hi. i haven't had a chance to say hi to you today so hi." he leans near me and says, "what's your name", and i say, "i'm kressler." he puts out his hand, takes my hand, shakes it and says "it's nice to meet you." so i say, "it's so nice meeting you too." =) then i say i don't want to bother you anymore because i know you're tired and have had a long day...he says, oh no it's cool. i asked him when the song will come out and he said in august...and other people started talking with him...he said that after the shoot he was probably going to go to the studio to actually finish the single up, that he's been going back and forth from the studio to his home in new york, trying to get some vacation in, sleeping in a bunk and playing video games...he said he only plays halo. and then him and some guys talked about some old school games...he also said the story behind the video is his...and that he is tired but people have said that he's getting paid big money to do the video but he's not getting any fucking money..he's actually paying for the video. =) and i said to him, "well, but you're a superstar" and he says, "oh no i'm not, but thank you for saying that." and i said, "well that's why we're in a dark alley in LA..." and he said "yeah" and sort of laughed. i then asked him, "are you excited to start touring this summer?" and john said, "well, i will be more once i get done recording the album." so yeah, then we started shooting...the last scene was awesome cuz he's pretending to sing and i'm standing to his left and he was close to hitting me with his guitar, but that's ok..he can knock me out anytime.
anyways, so after that it was a wrap up...we were done. all of the paid extras left to go get their money and the fan club members stuck around. it was around 8pm when we were done. anyways, when all done, john started walking saying he'd sign for everyone after he put his guitar down...he put it down, but then the first girl who went up to him said thank you and gave him a hug...so he gave everyone a hug!! when it was my turn, i didn't want to attack him so i waited for him to put his arms out. he put one arm over my left shoulder and one arm around my waist on my right...he put his cheek next to mine and said it was nice meeting you/it was nice seeing you...i was in such a daze cuz he was hugging me and touching my cheek!! so yeah...so i walked out...but then i remembered that i wanted an autograph from him. so i waited afterwards and walked back with this couple cuz she said john would sign her john mayer t-shirt she was wearing...so i ran back with them. the guy got a piece of paper...he tore it in half for me. he signed for them first...and then i came up to him again [this is the 3rd time!!] and i asked if we would sign two for me...i wanted to get lisa one. i asked for one for my friend lisa...and he wrote to lisa [heart heart heart] and signed...but he forgot to sign for me, cuz he was walking out and someone was talking to him, so i didn't want to be pushy and say...oh you forgot me...cuz hello? he talked to me, hugged me, and touched my cheek, shook my hand...plus, i knew he was so tired cuz he was there early in the morning and it was late, and he was heading off to the studio afterwards...poor guy, he was exhausted. so yeah, i just left cuz he went to pick up his stuff...as we were walking out this girl who just cornered him and talked him up was there, he went up to her, grabbed her face and kissed her cheek saying she was a cutie. hehe...boo on her. anyways, as i was leaving, i saw lauren and we walked back to the parking lot together...i told her everything that happened. we were both so excited...she said she got to talk to john and stand right next to him and all...she got her wristband autographed...we walked out and said our goodbyes and left...it was such an awesome day!!
some other details: dela was on the set...i saw him and he walked by us a few times...so that was exciting. uhm, ok, john wore like a black velvet jacket with a white t-shirt under, jeans and his red & white tennis shoes...looking absolutely awesome. the girl they picked for the "main" girl was a super-skinny brunette with long hair...she was ok looking. her name was michelle but i didn't think she was hot...she was just normal looking. and the girl who supposedly pulled her out of the crowd...well, i got to talk to her in the bathroom...she was nice. gave me details about the video and meeting john. and i met a lot of nice people there...the paid extras and fan club...everyone was awesome. the single will be out in august and i think the album will be out september-ish? but yeah, it was super awesome...between takes john strummed on his guitar, was cracking jokes, talking with fans....yeah..i am soo excited guys. and i would say "i'm never washing my right hand, right cheek, or this shirt...but i have to...hehe. but yes, i want to immortalize this moment in time.
the concept behind it all is that john is playing but none of know it's him...so we are all walking to the music, in awe [?] but he's among us in the crowd after we walk to the end...and the main girl turns around, looks at him, yada yada...i think it's about having that feeling of seeing someone overcome you and being bigger than everything, but i don't know that for sure...he was talking about how he wanted the video to be less literal, cuz he's not bigger than his body, but to just create images...and we heard snippets of the songs, but he said that he's still finishing it up in the studio. i thought the song sounded great..not a fast song but not slow, more of a old school rock fell than pop...we were there at 12 but didn't really leave until after 8pm, so it was a long day...but some, including john, were there early in the morning, like 730?
look for me in the new video!! i'm wearing cargo capris, light blue/dark blue tennis shoes [you might see my shoes - they took shoe shots of us walking], a light blue top that is semi-low and crosses in the front with a simple white necklace...and i have hair that has dark roots but is reddish...

happy wonderful birthday to lisa!! =)
ok guys, i am absolutely ecstatic!! and i never get excited and screechy, but i am...i am going to be an extra [probably one of hundreds] in john mayer's next video, which shoots on sunday!! hooray!! =) i'm so excited...so what if i have to drive to LA all by myself, in a city i'm not familiar with...and who cares if i hate driving, especially to places that i'm not familiar with....and who cares if i'll be exhausted from standing for 5-6 hours...and then have to drive home...hehe. it's still incredibly exciting. just being there will more than make up for any suffering i experience...they only offered fanclub members to attend, and only those over 18 who live in california...and they only gave us 24 hours notice to request being there...so given my odds, i say i'm lucky..hehe. i wish i could have you guys go with me, but i can't bring any guests....booooooo. =) lisa, john mayer would've been the perfect birthday present for you, hehe. unless i can get duncan, jason and john to fight over you...lol =)

damn it...my caption for the "john mayer capture the caption contest" won nothing. normally i wouldn't think anything of it, but the winning caption is so similar to mine. booo...i guess my hesitation made me lose. oh well...
Winning Caption = "I hope Mr. Wonka doesn't realize I have strayed from the rest of the tour group. I just have to win the lifetime supply of pudding."
Kressler's Caption = John thinks to himself, "I better finish all of this chocolate before Mr. Wonka and the Oompa Loompas create a song for my demise!"
*and double crap...i just checked my filing cabinet of email sent, and it never got sent. i remember writing it....but i think rodel saved it to my desktop instead of aol, and i got confused...and i was almost positive i sent it, but i don't have it saved...double grrrrr....now i just feel dumb. booo me. =( *

boo-yah!! john mayer is having a video shoot in los angeles on lisa's birthday...6/29/03!! it's so exciting...there's an call for extras to be in the video...woot. it's only open to local 83 members who are 18 or over and live in california...so i hope this means i have a chance to get a ticket to go. they just emailed today, tuesday, and the cutoff for ticket requests are tomorrow, wednesday. i'm probably too late and it's probably just as well because i'm not a screeching, annoying tall blonde girl that always seems to stand in front of the short people...but who knows right?? =) i assume that the video is for why georgia, which excites me even more because it's one of my absolute favorite songs...soo, yes, just sharing my temporary excitement and we'll see what happens tomorrow or the next day...whatever. hehe =) be happy and smiley =)

you did a lot of booing this past weekend , not to mention a boosing. It was fun til my body and mind didn't respond to me, I felt like a 5 year old lost kid. But thanks, hun and lisa for sticking by, not only me, but kim and the folk wandering around, drunk. Thisi will prolly be the time I break for a long time from hardcore drinking.
dodgers win! giants lose! got to rib only a few giants fan because the person i went with wasn't an enthusiast, but all in all, good fun.
so first off, thank you everyone so much for attending my soiree. it meant so much to me to have all of you guys. however, i am truly sorry that kress and lisa had to be on duty to monitor the rest of us drunken folks. i really hope that you guys had a good time. i'm fairly sure you guys did until all the madness began.

Lisa! i didn't know you had to leave early! if you had to leave, you should've just gone. i would've understood, and actually, i'm sure we would've been okay. i feel awful that you had to stay late and that you might not have had a good time. but thanks again so much for staying and looking out for us. the day after, lots of people proceeded to tell me that "Lisa is so nice!"
Rodel, dude, kress told me how much you had to drink and i can't believe i missed all of that. i hope your driveway didn't take it too hard. :) tell patrick, albert and joe i think they are totally cool and are always invited to my shindigs.
Kressler, i heart you to death man. i hope i didn't alarm you with my ramblings. they were only the words of a drunk woman. i truly appreciate yours and Lisa's concern over little old me. words cannot sincerely express my gratitude and appreciation. you rock!

happy graduation to our kimmy... =?
it was an interesting nite...greatest apologies to lisa who is the bestest friend and stayed all nite long even though she was supposed to leave early *hugs* ...a million thank you's to the wonderful patrick & albert whose guest appearance certainly put my mind at ease... *double hugs*
let's summarize the whirlwind of events from yesterday...*ahem*
*lisa and i are sunburned from sitting in the sweltering heat...although it wasn't as bad as last year.
*i saw my cousin walk...that mofo didn't tell anyone in the family he was walking, except my grandparents but they didn't go to the ceremony...booo khoa!
*couldn't find jackie, and i made a cool poster for her but couldn't give it to her cuz she was no where to be seen.. =(
*lisa and i went to ikea to briefly shop around...that was fun.
*went to chinese buffet with lisa, rodel and joe...it was good eatin'
*went to kim's party at the hilton in hb...whoa, that's where the real news is..hehe
*it was a bevy of alcohol that nite. smirnoff, wine coolers, beer, guinness, vodka, bailey's, 151, whiskey, tequila and even more...there were also bottles of soda and 2 bags of chips.
*drinking began early...almost all the girls got completely drunk. the first couple of hours were sheer happiness. everyone drinking, laughing, having fun and being freaky & all that the guys like...hehe.
*but like every bell curve, there was a downslope, and it came almost exponentially fast...people got sleepy and way too drunk. people staggered, fell down, walked into walls/furniture, etc...
*i was happy and buzzed, but still had a clear head...lisa was completely sober...rodel was drunk and passed out on the floor...kim was drunk and random....joe was drunk and abrasive. hehe =)
*i thank the lord for the arrival of patrick and albert. they helped to get joe ok enough to go home...and they drove him home actually...so a million thank yous to them. it's hard to watch over everyone. they sort of calmed him down, got him to hit less on the girls [lisa, kim, others...] and what not.
*lisa is a good samaritan...she watched over all of us and made sure we were all ok. she helped to clean up while i attended to my boo and to our kimmy...and occasionally as i tried to talk to joe to get him to be ok. yes, i was in triangle formation
*by nite's end, most people were passed out...kim was rambling but i listened to every word she had to say. i worried over rodel...he drank WAY too much...and later that nite, we saw the consequences on his driveway...hehe
*i came home, fully realizing everything that happened that nite...so i guess i wasn't drunk. hehe...only the drunk forget...hehe =)
*i played mother hen last nite, looking over my little chick-a-dees...but that's ok, it's what i was meant to do. i heart you lisa for everything...i will make it up to you!! patrick & albert, i heart you too! thank you guys...and i heart my brain, for knowing when to stop drinking. =) the good news is that i am still alive and ok today. =)
it was an interesting nite...greatest apologies to lisa who is the bestest friend and stayed all nite long even though she was supposed to leave early *hugs* ...a million thank you's to the wonderful patrick & albert whose guest appearance certainly put my mind at ease... *double hugs*
let's summarize the whirlwind of events from yesterday...*ahem*
*lisa and i are sunburned from sitting in the sweltering heat...although it wasn't as bad as last year.
*i saw my cousin walk...that mofo didn't tell anyone in the family he was walking, except my grandparents but they didn't go to the ceremony...booo khoa!
*couldn't find jackie, and i made a cool poster for her but couldn't give it to her cuz she was no where to be seen.. =(
*lisa and i went to ikea to briefly shop around...that was fun.
*went to chinese buffet with lisa, rodel and joe...it was good eatin'
*went to kim's party at the hilton in hb...whoa, that's where the real news is..hehe
*it was a bevy of alcohol that nite. smirnoff, wine coolers, beer, guinness, vodka, bailey's, 151, whiskey, tequila and even more...there were also bottles of soda and 2 bags of chips.
*drinking began early...almost all the girls got completely drunk. the first couple of hours were sheer happiness. everyone drinking, laughing, having fun and being freaky & all that the guys like...hehe.

just saw 2fast 2furious with my boo...hehe. ok, so it's about racers, souped up cars, phony asians, ridiculously bright clothing/cars and cheesy as hell....but i liked it. =) i don't know what is wrong with me...i liked the first one, and i think this 2nd one is better...i think it's so cheesy and funny that it's enjoyable. =)
