jason, howie & john

so i started reading the journal of mraz...and here is what i stumbled upon for the 12/8/04 entry:

I love indie rock. I like music where you feel special when you listen to it,
like you’re the only one who has a copy. I had the pleasure the other night to
see Howie Day at the Roxy in LA. It’s a fairly small club, perfect for an
intimate evening with Howie and Cary Brothers and Suzie Suh. After the show,
Howie and I went across the street for a secret midnight John Mayer show at the
Viper Room. Now that was indie rock. He didn’t play no body is a wonderland or
anything you’d expect. He was playing for his love of music. He was Jimi Hendrix
and Buddy Guy and Stevie Vaughn all rolled up into one big reincarnation
burrito. He was Mayer comes alive. He was the reminder I need. He became once
again a role model.

can you imagine...mraz, howie & mayer all in the same place all at the same moment in time? how sweet that would have been. this just brings back the sadness...

however, i will say that tomorrow is christmas and life is good...so i say happy happy christmas everyone! we get to see mraz in a couple of weeks...and for now, dreaming of the next time i see mayer & howie....and maybe meeting jude law. he was so awesome in closer...i really, really liked that movie! sure there was a lot of explicit language, and i've never heard so many sex terms in one sitting before. however, i thought all the characters were believable and it was a great ensemble piece...those are some pretty messed up people...but i think in a way we all have our issues to deal with...and for you boys out there, natalie portman was quite good in this film...she made quite a good stripper. but i digress....season's greetings everyone...see you on monday for our after christmas-christmas party! pajamas people!! =)

visits and xmas

hello people... =)

i visited mr. wilmoth yesterday. it was nice to go back and talk to him...and to see some of my past students. i do miss them dearly but i do not miss some things...like the leak in the sink in the back room...and having to move boxes off the filthy floor. he is going to have a student teacher in february...but it might be hard to find a 2nd teacher to work with since mrs. fleischman is on maternity leave right now and i know that no other bio/life sci teacher there will take one on...i will definitely check back in with him next semester to see how it is going.

i always like visiting and talking to mr. wilmoth...he is always honest with me and makes me feel better about myself. he says that people take me for granted and i am not appreciated enough...and i never really think about that stuff much until someone says it. it's nice that someone thinks i am worth more than i think i am...it's also nice to have someone who whole-heartedly believes in you, especially when he is not contractually obligated to... =)

well, it's xmas eve and we were supposed to go to my uncle's on my father's side but thankfully we are not. tomorrow we drive down to my sister's for christmas and the next day we are going to a science exhibit in LA. then monday our party, tuesday patrick's birthday and the rest of the week will be vegas. it's awfully busy from here on out...hope everyone has found time to relax and enjoy their precious time off.

on monday, my mom is helping me marinate thit nuong...so we can have bun thit nuong and i'm making some creme puffs as well. you all better have some good food... =) talk to you all later..have a merry christmas.

YUM

OMG, korean bbq beef? are we going to have galbi (kalbi?) too?? YUM!

I was unaware this was going to be potluck style... hmmm... chicken pasta?? I must think about this. :)

Mokroopal X-mas

Hi all...wow...this time of year is soooo crazy! =) As for X-mas...

6:00 p.m. at my place

as for dinner...boys...you're in charge of Korean BBQ beef...you can get it at the asian market and grill it (as I do not have a grill) and bring it over...or, you can pick some up pre-made (i.e. The Loft). If there's any problem, let me know =).

I've got chinese chicken salad and mochiko chicken.

Kress is bringing some Vietnamese food I do believe =).

Kim, your choice...=).

Don't forget your secret santa gift! =) So...see you all on Monday!!

mammoth fun

yes, i also noticed that the post counts have stopped at 1193. same for my other blog, it's stopped at 7.

mammoth trip was FABOOLOUS! verra exhausted am i, but a good exhausted. we got back around 7, so had the mokroopal christmas stayed on the 23rd as planned, i would've made it. sorry guys, for being a pooper. =Z however, i eagerly await our meeting on the 27th!!

mokrooton.com is back, yay!

Wednesday, December 22, 2004

I just noticed that the post count stopped at 1193.

Just got a 6' tree for $15, Lisa, if you haven't found a tree yet.

Doing all this work around the house.

OK see you on fun week next week.

thank you!!

hey everyone..

thanks for the great birthday dinner! i loved it all...the food, the cake and the great friends. =) looking back on the night, i realize i had about 3 drinks, 5 shots and 1 glass of champagne. that seems like a lot yet i don't think i was remotely giddy or tipsy. *sigh* oh well...perhaps next time.

i was awfully tired last night...school this week has been incredibly busy. i gave and graded 2 tests...went to a band concert...webpage training...and very little sleep. sorry if i fell asleep so early...but it was nice just hanging out.

i'm glad school is out for a while but i know i'll miss it a bit...i'm going back next week to pick up some materials to prepare the next unit during break and to give mr. wilmoth my handouts when i visit thursday. i'm excited to visit him this week...we haven't talked in person since the summer and we have lots to catch up on. i know i have some stories to tell...i think my favorite comment made to me thus far was from a student who asked me if i knew that a BLT has bacon. I said...of course it has bacon..that's what the B is for! he said he had no idea that's what it stood for. i asked him what he thought the B meant then...and his response - i thought BLT stood for bun, lettuce and tomato. =) i love my students...that made me laugh for days... =)

i would also like to point out that i fixed up the sidebar for our blogger and added our links...my lameass html skills did that. =)

well, i might see some of you tonight and if not...thanks again for everything! =)

woo hoo!

You Are Tequilla

When you drink, you're serious about getting drunk!
You'll take any shot that's offered up to you...
Even if it tastes like sock sweat!
And you're never afraid of eating the worm.

ya know, i think we can still have the humongo mokroopal party, but then, i was only going to invite like two people. =)

ya, i'm supposed to be packing right now... i'm a bit urked that i can't fit it all into one suitcase. for pete's sake, why do i always bring so much crap?!

links

the links you have to add yourself in on the template a la html. =)

yeah

I changed the template, but it doesn't have everyone's links, so I don't know how to bring that back up.

whoa...who changed the template? =)

anyways, the week is hectic and i am disappointed in myself because i have not accomplished any crafty gifts for my colleagues at school and it looks like it shall not happen either. still have tests to create and things to do...good grief.

i did want to post about my birthday though...i've decided that i want to go to TENHU. =) i know patrick and albert haven't gone...but it's this sort of rundown, ghetto chinese restaurant that i've gone to for years and years...i feel like some crab, peking duck and sizzling rice soup!! so that is my choice. =) and it's sort of old school chinese/cantonese style...so they are lacking in "teriyaki chicken" but they have lots of other stuff...sorry patrick!

how about dinner on friday night...it's really close to my house, so i guess everyone meet at my house at 7ish? and i just talked to lisa...we'll head over to her place afterwards...i'm planning on spending the night and drinking ridiculous amounts of alcohol. =)

i think we can also safely say that the gi-normous mokroopal xmas party is out of the question now. how about just a small mokroopal xmas then..? we need to decide on when and where...i think the 23rd would still be the best day but we can postpone until after xmas if need be.

it's that time of the night where i need to get work done...making up a DNA test for life science tomorrow and then a mitosis-meiosis test for biology thursday. and lisa, if you ever have to teach about DNA, i have a very simple DNA extraction activity from fruit. i tried it today...and it worked beautifully. the kids liked it a lot. anyways, i'm off to brainstorm a test. talk to you all soon.. =)
LMAO at the cartoon! sigh, that made my day. =)

ooOOOO at the new layout. and i was just thinking to myself the other day that maybe we should start a new one??
Whoa.... O_O SO MUCH GREEEEEN! bliss......

This week is flying by amazingly fast and this is just the beginning. I can only imagine how crazy things will get once the week is over. There's still so much to do too! Anyway, hang in there everyone and we'll party it up this weekend =)

Here's an a-moo-sing link... if you want a wallpaper I made from it then I'll post that up too =)

By the way, thanks Pat =)

Monday, December 13, 2004

One more essayto edit and one more test to go that's easy as hell, a javascript test, haha, on scantron. I'm almost home free. I haven't seen daylight yet, but it will be nice and sweet to be free.

Sunday, December 12, 2004

hahahaha, that's funny kim =)

hooray for mraz next month! yes...something to look forward to in the new year =)
bummer about the howie and mayer stuff...gosh, that would have been oober cool...however, perhaps it is for the best...it'll make next time we them even sweeter! =) and just think kress...friday...friday =)

i can't wait to see you all Friday for the big birthday celebration! omg, kress..you're hitting the big 2-5!!!!!!!! hehehehe ;)

Asian Joe decided (spur of the moment) to come to California. His flight arrives tomorrow night, and he's going to be staying at my place until Thursday, when he flies back. If anyone has any suggestions of fun places to go, I could use some. Maybe hit up Six Flags or something this week, and definitely lots of good food places :-) Let me know if any of you want to go places, I'll post up any plans I have...
Union and friends party today, woot! Go if you can!

I curse the powers that put concerts on monday-wednesday!!

so...yesterday, i was quite saddened by the fact that howie day was playing the roxy and i could not go because it was a monday. isn't it enough that i never get to see him because he doesn't play in southern ca very much? oh the agony...

well, to add to my disgruntled attitude...john mayer had a secret show @ the viper room last night!!! it was posted only on the fanclub website. i read it in time...but again, could not go!! it was only $15 too...a small, small show. we can get tickets to see mayer play outdoors on kimmel tonite but the in-studio is sold out. i'd rather see the interview than hear him play [especially if it's freezing outside and may rain] boooooooo.... =(

sometimes i truly hate being so rational, reasonable and responsible. i curse those people again!! >=T oh well...i've vented and now i'm good.

well, to aid in my unhappy times...there are some tv happenings tonight. [sorry-gavin was on carson yesterday]
*maroon 5 on leno
*mayer on kimmel [it says he is the only guest]

and more tv stuff:
12/8 maroon 5 appear[not performing] on billboard music awards
12/9 john mayer has a tv show
12/13 tolcher on carson
12/15 mayer & howie on carson [rerun]
12/17 jingle ball [maroon 5 playing acoustic]
12/22 mraz on ellen [rerun]

ok, that is all for now...so i will go back to being semi-disgruntled and do some work. =)

5 mraz tickets purchased for janurary 8th. ^_^
LOL, I did not get to drunk-blog, however I did drunk-call a few people! Aww Kress and Rodel, you missed out on excellent drunk ramblings, but its alright, for we shall be conveneing together soon. I was slightly hungover today, but tis the price to pay for debauchery.

Love you all!
yikes...drunk posts are funny. =)

i am sorry i did not make it to such interesting festivities, but it looks like you guys drank enough for both rodel and myself. =) reading through, i'm not quite sure of what debauchery took place and perhaps i do not want to know.

since i am awake and sober, i will talk about the concerts... =)

12/2 - tolcher, avion, & everclear => BRILLIANT!! lisa and i had such fun...tolcher was up first and he was great as always. he completely won the crowd over...lisa and i were right near the stage, about 2nd row standing. we went out to meet him after his set...he commented on how lisa's scarf was around his neck in the their picture and he commented to me about remembering my name from an email. 2 lovely moments in time. anyways, after we met him we hung out outside during avion's set. michael and the band were hanging out there too...drinking and talking to the ladies. hehe...that william - just weird seeing him hit on girls now. avion was pretty good but we were not inside for them...and then everclear came on. they were great...didn't recognize the majority of stuff, but still good. at the end of their set, lisa and i went out to look at merch...they were giving away a free everclear cd [that we of course took] and lisa went to buy a tolcher shirt. the merch girls for tolcher were super nice and they gave us after show passes!! w00t. we were hanging out to do the after show thing and tolcher came out again...he saw us and came over to converse for a while. lisa was a bit tipsy at this point and started bopping around...at which point, tolcher did as well. he seemed pretty tired and excused himself after chatting with us for a while...giving us a hug before leaving. lisa met avion and then we went inside to meet everclear. although not the hugest fans, i still like them. we met the entire band and they were just so great. they all signed and talked to us for a while... =)

12/3 - the golden republic & sondre lerche => LOVELY!! we were a bit late...but that's ok cuz the golden republic was a bit late as well. =) i liked them...they were pretty good and we bought their EP after the show...they were super nice. =) then it was sondre...the last time we saw him, it was w/ band but this time it was mainly solo. i think he is just so lovely and endearing on the stage. he makes such funny comments without really trying to be funny...i.e. the sondre lerche choir and non-leann rhimes song...hehe. the canes was quite nice...small and laid back - i think san diego venues are like that in general. we were right next to the stage...next to little asian punk. sondre's music is melodic and not of the type to rock until bloodshed...but apparently little asian punk doesn't know this. i was quite fearful when he started headbanging in the set...but if he did hit me, he would get a swift punch to the face!! =) we met sondre afterwards and he was very nice. we took our pictures with him and from there it was a long drive home...thanks lisa for driving especially when you barely had any sleep!

and so the short concert extravaganza ends....still sad that i will not see howie day @ the roxy monday...nor will i go to the kimmel taping of mayer next week either. but for now this shall be good... =)

i can't believe i'm awake right now...i woke up at 8:30 on a sunday - unheard of for me! i guess that means i'm at least resting if not *partying* well, i shall talk to you all soon...if not today. =) bye for now
Yeah,
As times goes I begin to feel evermore sorry for the trouble that I've created. What once seemed to be a simple deisre has run amok, completely out of control, even of my own hands. I thought that I could be steadfast throughout this ordeal, but even I'm having trouble. I'm truly sorry for the mischief that I' ve caused, yet a part of me wishes you were a part in the mayhem that I've dealt. I'm doing my best to take care of patrick and lisa as they rest. I wish myself goodluck in this endeavor. Anyway, all seems well, and once again I hope that all is well with you, pleasant dreams and the like, while I deal with this waking nightmare. I will persist and I will remain strong in this matter of will, but I too fear that my strand of sanity is at its last. I'll do my best to make sure that lisa and patrick are safe before I let myself succumb to the desire of slumber. Peaceful dreams to all of you, wish me luck.

Your dear friend,
Albert

Hello Everybody,
We're all using Lisa's computer to blog right now. I'll admit that I'm not quite 100% right now as well. Anyway, I'm not sure how this reflects upon me but that's not an issue that truly matters as of now. I'd like to apologize in advance for debauching our patrick and lisa. I know that it's once in a blue moon that I'd actually suggest a bit of alcohol, but sometimes a lil bit isn't bad. To say the least, I've had a bit more than a lil bit =) And to be honest, I've had a tad too much myself, b ut in any case I hope you're all well as usual. Anyway, I'm going to end it on the note that I have the least bit of sobriety in me although others may not amd that you're all well. Goodnight to everyone and I hope that we all have pleasant week this week. ^_^

sigh, sorry guys, needed to vent. have transferred emotional pains to alcoholic pains (ie, headache). good times. =)

how was the concert?

oh the pains!!

Thursday, December 02, 2004

oooh... abalos pros and pac modern... two of the best parts of PCN together again in one night.. it sounds like good times =) Hows mokrooton.com coming along? I hope you've renewed the domain name, else someone may come along and snipe it. It may also be nice if it wasnt forbidden for everyone to access as well =) Maybe that's something Pat has to handle? Pssst... by the way... the Athlon64 3000+ (socket939 90nm) is going for $152 at newegg... it's $40 cheaper than the XP 3200+ that you were thinking about if you were to build a computer for kressler... it also has plenty of potential for overclocking and can easily outpace the 3200+.... plus it runs a bit cooler and has the capability for 64-bit computing... and you can use the 40 bucks you save towards the same shuttle case that adam has ^_~ If you still are thinking about an AthlonXP processor.. the AthlonXP-M 2400+ (the one in Tara's computer) is a steal at $80.... I've been using the computer and it's been running quite nicely.. very speedy, energy efficient, cool, and quiet.. and yes.. it overclocks devilishly well, so don't let the model number fool ya >=)

Another Sondre concert already, Lisa ... wow.. the time really flies.. and yes, as kressler said, hope you're having fun =) And a concert tomorrow? And arent you going to one the day after that? Madness =) You certainly know how to live it up.

Bow Chika Bow Wow? Are you watching porn? O_O? or some 70's tv program featuring someone with an afro? Anyway, I hope you're enjoying your gift and putting it to good use Kim. I didn't notice the apple was in the martini either (probably because you removed the card pretty quickly) so I was thinking... why on earth would lisa just randomly throw a martini glass in the mix? But yeah, now that it's been pointed out.... clever indeed.

How goes it Pat? I hope you're feeling well seeing as how this is Day #2 of The Atkins Strikes Back. If you care to augment your health program, I'd be happy to join you for some DDR. I kinda miss it... especially since I'm not that good anymore =P Hope version 4 is coming along nicely as well =) Oh yeah, I ran into a high school buddy of mine today... he's an electrician so if you still plan on wiring your house, then maybe you should give him a chance... if I recall correctly, he did extensive wiring to a 14 million dollar 4 story home in Laguna Beach (an $18,000 job)... so I'm guessing he's pretty good although I havent seen any of his work personally. AND WOOT! Half-Life 2 Deathmatch is out!

Hehe... pretending to work and falling asleep? Hehe, it seems so true, but you certainly do geta lot of work done Kressler. I hope you're not feeling too tired, only a little while longer until winter break =) Your birthday is also coming up pretty soon too. Very exciting indeed =)

Yes, december is a very busy month... in fact, too busy... I have a 10 page draft due monday, a lab quiz tuesday, and exam on thursday.... and then the week after is finals! So I have a portfolio due as well as a lab notebook that week in addition to my finals... urgh... so much work to do.... anyone care to have a drink this weekend? (oi.. sorry kim, I know you were just talking about us drinking when you're not around) I know I normally don't ask this and it's been quite a while since I've had one.. I dunno... I just feel like I need to relieve some stress =) Anyway, hopefully we'll get a chance to hangout this weekend and perhaps that will calm my nerves a little. And yes, let's plan this month out ^_^

John Mayer & Howie Day will be on Carson tomorrow night...john to talk about his show and howie to perform!! hooray!!

lisa and i are seeing tolcher tomorrow! hooray!! =) hope you're having fun with sondre tonite at the troubadour... =)

well, it's late and i haven't done a scratch of work...what else is new? =) time to pretend to work but actually fall asleep....

bow shika bow wow!
