Down for Whatever

I'm free for anything that may be planned this weekend. I'm fine with having it tonight, if not tomorrow would be just as good ^_^

Yesterday was the oddest day. I woke up with a nasty case of the sniffles and a mild sore throat. It seemed like it happened overnight (although I feel fine today). I also had an anatomy midterm yesterday. It's amazing how much confidence you can gain studying for an hour and a half right before a test =) So I finished the day off by going to a concert held at my school by myself. It was small ensemble of jazz musicians and the only word to describe it was... lovely ^_^ I bought two cd's after the show and I'm contemplating going to another concert on the 7th. There are actually two that I want to go to but the other one is in San Francisco =P It's an orchestral performance of songs composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Saaaadness...... Oh well, I can't be everywhere at once.

Anyway, if you plan on making dinner at your place Lisa then let us know and we can pitch in. If we're going out to dinner then I hope you have a place in mind. Anyway, looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

Happy President's Day! =)

hehe...i'm not so sure =)

You are a drumstick.

Absolutely insane. That is how most would describe you. You aren't afraid to take risks, and enjoy putting yourself in strange situations. Most people hang out with you because of your hilarious sense of humour. You light up any bad situation, and can help all of your friends with their problems, except for your own. Because of this, you enjoy being around people like you. Many shut you out for your very weird, random personality, but honestly, you shouldn't care.

Most compatible with: Guitar, and another drumstick.

i am a base...

You are Windex.

You are a neat freak. Quite plain and simple. If you walk into an unorganized area, you go insane. Most of your free time is spent cleaning and organizing, when you aren't having fun with you friends. Even though many are annoyed by your constant organizing, some see it as a quality of neatness, and that is something most people envy about you. The opposite sex sees you as clean-cut and pure, though you are too shy to express your true feelings for them. You keep a list of goals and priorities in your life, and in almost all cases, accomplish them. You are the over-acheiver, most intelligent in your class, and strive to do all that is in your ability. Some people may try to take advantage of you, however, so don't let them make you clean up their messes. "Just put some Windex."

Most compatible with: Toothbrush.

Go Fork Yourself!

You are a Fork.

You are special, unique... and shiny.... but you just don't know it. Many admire you for your outward appearance, but you haven't truly expressed all of the great stuff inside of you. You have the potential to do great things and help others, and this will help you in the future. When you hold a grudge at someone, however, this can be dangerous. Despite your calmness that most people perceive about you, you keep a lot of feelings bottled up inside that one day can make you explode and stab something. Instead of resorting to that, you can say, "Go Fork Yourself!"

Most compatible with: Knife, and Sock.

=P

You are a sock.

You are a cozy, fuzzy, warm-hearted person. A lot of your friends describe you as a hopeless romantic. You fall for the opposite sex very easily. But be careful, because usually you don't know what you are getting into, and because you are very sensitive, you can get hurt... especially in early relationships. Also, don't exclude the cold-hearted from your "want-list", because they just might be looking for a kind person to warm up their heart.... or a sock to warm up their feet.

Most compatible with: Toilet Paper.

the good and the bad...

well, i guess we should start with the bad. gavin & tolcher concert was cancelled in SD...sadness! they said they would reschedule...but who knows if tolcher will be there that time around...and who knows if it will be on a day that we can actually go. i am also still feeling ill and teaching was unpleasant today...especially when you have to write up 2 of your students for hours + referrals! why can't they just behave?? i think 2nd period was particularly good because they saw how pissed i was about the situation before class with those 2. let's just say things ended with a poptart thrown in the trash and a backpack on the roof.

the good news? hooray for john mayer...winning 2 grammys and hooray for maroon5 for winning a grammy too!! =) i actually taped the grammys and i liked the show very much...jam-packed with performances and hardly any of that pesky-award handing out... =) i'm also quite happy because i re-read about the SIN SET's for the M5 concerts....and they are going to take a group picture of soundcheck people with maroon5!! hooray!! more lovely pictures with our favorite band...btw, they looked HOT on the grammys. =)

ok, it's off to work i go...so tired, but so much to do!

the end of v-day

hi all...

well, it's the end of valentine's day...hope your day went well. had a short run of bad luck lately...but hopefully things will get better. although it is supposed to rain pretty much all week.

does anyone want to go to universal studios? i have 2 tickets that expire by the end of the month. if anyone wants to go, i think the last weekend of the month looks good. maybe we could all go...or i can just give the tickets to anyone who wants to go....anyways, we have a little bit of time to decide...

hope you guys have a nice week...i think it will be tiring for me...being drowsy from medicine and doing some extra work...

Happy Valentines Day...

Yes, happy valentine's day to all...

It has also been a very "SAD" day...hehe...nearly everything that could have gone wrong has...i think i've been jinxed by something...wah...positive outlook is not working so well for this weekend...perhaps I just need to get back to work and wash away my string of bad luck. *sigh*

Hope everyone's day has been fantastical and love-ly =)

Merry Single Awareness Day

I thought maybe this may have been the opening line for last year's feb 14th post, but I took a look at the archives and realized that Kressler had used it and not moi. =)

Have a good start of the week all. Next monday is a holiday!!

rooster it up!

happy lunar new year! =) it's the year of the rooster....why do i only hear bad things about this year? i read that a lot of couples in china got married last month to avoid being married during rooster times. and...my mom & grandma say that having a baby during this year is also bad...it makes me wonder.

i am quite tired lately...we have a test tomorrow and i'm supposed to have online review, but i fell asleep until 9pm...and then i signed on...still on talking to the kiddies. i will have mountains of grading tomorrow...so if anyone would like to help out, give me a call.. =)

i am also quite mad at myself...i'm dumb. i went online but my computer was acting funny...so i logged off and back on again. well, i accidentally started talking to one of my students on my normal sn instead of my school one...grrr.. he is a nice kid though and he promised not to give away my other sn or i could give him hours (detention). i'm so stupid! he gave me his word though and he is a good & trustworthy student...so i will believe him. however, this does get me to thinking about a new sn. i guess i'm a bit more paranoid than usual...the other night, some lame-o started talking to me all ghetto...saying things like, "damn you're fine...ur HOT...you're off the richter girl.." it was funny and flattering...but fairly weird and creepy just the same. hmmm...i will further think about this, although coming up with some sort of original sn is blah...oh well. i guess i will keep to my own circle of friends and not talk to strangers. =)

ok, got to get a bit of grading done now...looking forward to saturday and sunday.. =) oh..and matt nathanson is playing 4th & B on 3/5/05...he's opening for G.love & the special sauce....lol. anyways, seems like a good show. all right...talk to everyone soon. =)

Happy Lunar New Year

Happy New Year (again) guys! Think lucky thought today. =)

twenty-twooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

ditto the happy birthday sentiments ;)

w00t...yet another stroke of older has hit a member of the mokroopal clan =)...hoorayyyy...it's time for oober fantastic festivities! =)

I have not blogged in too long to fathom ... too long to reply to any previous post, or at least, too long to try ;). I'll just say that amongst all the chaos in our lives, it's nice to know we are all there for each other =) hooray for good times =)

Aww.. thanks kim ^_^ Thanks to you too Kressler (I think it counts even if it was ever so slightly early). Oh yeah, speaking of my birthday, I've been doing an ungodly amount of cleaning lately and I managed to find a card while cleaning out the garage. It's green with a teddy bear on it and it says "A New Baby! Congratulations" and inside it says "Dear Albert, So happy you are a boy. Love, Frances." Well, Frances, I'm happy I'm a boy too. Hehe, so as far as I know that was my first birthday card.. and for my actual birthday too! (because you only have one real birthday).

*group hug* all of you make my life a happy one and a guy could hardly wish for more.

I have a pretty busy week ahead of me but that's what makes the weekends that much sweeter.
My cousin and her daughter will be moving in on wednesday =P My mom also is going to install the wood flooring this week (supposedly) so that will be even more work for me and my dad too because we'll have to move all the furniture so we can install the floor. So unbelievably troublesome. My mom just had schedule it so that we would host the party for my aunt at my house yesterday, have my aunt stay with us for the week, have my cousin move in and take over half of the entire house, and do serious renovation to the house all in the time span of a week (Chinese New Year and my birthday also happen to occur during this week). The thing is she has neither the strength nor the will to carry out her plans so the majority of the burden always seems to land on my shoulders. *sigh* Anyway, at least the cleaning is on brief hiatus for now. I merely need to worry about two exams for school this week. Those shouldn't be too much of a problem though.

Anyway, I've got the gears in motion for an outing this coming weekend ^_^ 7 people not including myself will be going to the Improv for sure and 7 more have been informed and have yet to confirm. Most likely we'll head on over to Yardhouse afterwards. So I'm going to check up on everyone today and hopefully be able to order tickets by tonight.

So... for those of you concerned about getting me something for my birthday although it is unnecessary... I'll provide something for you to work with...

Stores I Like: BestBuy, Tower Records, Barnes&Noble, Home Depot.. Basically... Music, electronics, hardware, car stuff, books, stationary... I like all that stuff.. hell, I even frequent Walmart and Office Depot...

Things I've Considered Buying Recently:
  • A new jacket
  • new furniture for my room
  • pc speakers ( I will purchase a new set for myself for sure)
  • the Ratatat CD titled Ratatat (I can't find their damn Remix album),
  • j-rock cd's (the Bump of Chicken cd that features "Sailing Day," the older Porno Graffiti cd that features "Hitori," and perhaps a newer mayumi kojima cd (the last one I got was "Me and My Monkey on the Moon.")
  • the recent Green Day cd
  • x-acto blade refills (I found my x-acto knife while cleaning)
  • a new mp3 cd-player for my car
That's all I can think of right now.. but if you wish for more... I think I could come up with more...

happy birthday albert!!

yes, read the title above...

it is time to post about birthday activities you wish to occur and presents that we want to buy you...and since it is your birthday, i will ask nicely. however, once the day is over...and if you still don't have it posted you will be sorry mister! some of us have little time in the week to have a life, so some notice is nice.. =)

ALSO, FOR EVERYONE:
are we really going to do san francisco 3/25-3/27?? if we're serious...then we need to get info. on hotels/flights and more. if we don't, then i shall have to plan on other activities during my vacation..

have a good day everyone!

Merry Birthday Albert!!

You lucky duck, I have it written in my calender! Welcome to the double 2s. Have a very merry day and I wish you health, happiness and all other well-wishes for this year and all the years of your life my friend. ;)

HUGS!

The Pats Won!

I don't know who watched (or cared) but I am now a part of another sports victory. I must say, I never really cared for sports (outside of tennis and the Angels) until I came to Boston. Must be something in the water. I was quite sick on Friday, I'm glad none of you had to witness it. Anyhoo, miss you all, as always. Have a good week at work, school or both! =)

w00t for no reason... W00T!

Migraines, Healthyness

Yeah, having 3 migraines sucked, but I did make some changes (actually started right before the 3rd one). I gave up soda completely and I'm drinking juices and what not now. The 3rd one actually went away after 2 hours, and it never hurt too bad (I didn't have to go in a dark room, which is unheard of..). My blood pressure is normal, I've had it checked before. I've definitely been eating more healthy all around, so don't worry about me, I'll be fine :)

cliche: TGIF :)

well, because of a faculty planning day, i had no classes today. i spent most of the day lounging, surfing and watching lots of tv. so anyhoo, just wanted to pop in really quick and to wish you guys a merry and restful weekend. =)

it's a ryan update...

a new post on the M5 tour diary:

Hello all. It's Ryan here with good news. I'm getting close to being ready to
perform again. I'm about a week of rehearsals away from being ready, so I'm
getting very excited for the upcoming tour.I wanted to post today because we
have these two TV shows this week (Conan O'Brien and The Today Show), which I
have decided to bypass in favor of continuing my progress at home this week. I
didn't want any one to worry when they don't see me playing on these shows. I
just want to make sure that I'm ready to play my best when I do perform again.
We've got the Grammy's and then the big tour coming up, so I'm taking my time to
ensure that my recovery is complete. I'm almost there!Anyway, I'll keep you
informed, and I'll see you on tour!love,Ryan

hooray for ryan!! he'll be out on tour playing again... =)

well, not that any of you watch the superbowl..but is anyone having a superbowl party? hehe...most likely not huh? =)

oh, so i went to esperanza's girls' basketball games...our frosh/soph & varsity won but jv narrowly lost in the last 12 seconds...very sad. i have 4 F/S girls and 2 JV girls in my classes. saw a bunch of students there...it was cool to see them play. also, there's a girl and boy in my 5th period who are "going out" - they are so cute together!! the girl is pretty & tall, a good student...the boy is cute and polite, very gentlemanly....they make a good couple. luckily there was no pda at the game. some parents recognized me as well...so odd for people to know who you are. anyways, something slightly amusing but also slightly disturbing happened. at the end of the game, they announced the winter formal court...and for each prince/princess they were saying different tidbits on them and the people wrote out thank you's. anyways, one of the senior princesses...she said she was going to csuf to major in math, then study politics....she wanted to thank her parents, god for giving her so much and president george bush for being a positive influence on her....WHAT?? oh how the youngins' think over here in yorba linda....it's quite the republican city i guess, but it doesn't surprise me that much. that girl's statement did surprise me...how very odd to thank the president...but i guess i'll never figure these kids out.

saturday

hey everyone...

on saturday i am going to chaperone winter formal at espn zone @ downtown disney...apparently, it's the first dance they've ever had there. i'll have to be there from 730-midnight.

afterwards, anyone want to hang out? i know it'll be late...but maybe we can catch denny's or whatever...just a thought. if everyone is too tired though, i'll understand...i'll probably be quite tired myself. if not saturday, then maybe sunday we can do something...i guess we'll see.

crunches

i too have been working out, mostly to amuse myself. pilates and yoga is very fun, but i think i prefer yoga--far more relaxing. today was kickboxing. at the end of the workout, we do crunches... turns out, i can't do very many of them. since i don't anticipate on actually losing weight, considering the fact that if i lose more, there won't be much left of me, i'm hoping to at least get the heart a-pumping better and not be so short of breath everytime i climb the stairs to my apartment. when i get back, you guys can tell me if i look any different. :)

verra irked at andy losing. =( was contemplating joining tennis team, or just playing tennis, but i've left my tennis racket at home.

test tomorrow, and suprisingly, not very worried about it. am i getting too smart for my own good, or am i just getting in over my head by deciding to study as little as possible? i might as well get drunk tonight too and take the test hungover to see what my results would be like the last time i did that. :)

random thought: verra excited about m5!! w00t.

Feeling like....?

I had a hard time trying to clear my throat today, but I had a bit too much too eat. Went to Harry's Place and got some French Toast, which wasn't the breakfast to get, but I should have gone with my first instinct and got 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup. That would have been much better. Today was very unproductive, but I felt really tired and still sore from yesterday's jogging around the school, and I was cramping up earlier really badly, and I've been taking Motrin to take care of the muscle pains, but I need a little more lean meats, like Turkey or Tuna in my system, which is perhaps, much more tastier now that I'm getting much more dehydrated with my body, but well see how it holds up. I've got to stretch out perhaps to get the sores out of me, well that's what tennis.com and tennis magazine says. I've been reading up on some workout articles to better and organize my workout at Frog's, and I've added 25 situps on 4 out of the 7 days that it said to do. My goals was to keep focus when you are tired, even if it hurts so much. The last lap around the track, I wanted to throw up, but I didn't jog the rest of the way which made me feel unaccomplished. Well see what happens next.

Haha, you said it albert. Thanks for the post to read.

Very Quickly Now...

So I just finished my anatomy test. It was a bit tough but I guess that's to be expected when you cover one chapter per day (and once so far two chapters a day). I think I did alright though =) I have to head off to lab soon though as it is only the beginning of my day. It certainly started off with a bang.

I did take a quick glance at everyone's blog. It's kinda weird because I use this as my blog to post what I need to where as the rest of you except Rodel have your own blogs. Hurray for us lazy folk!

Interesting poetry Lisa =) It certainly is a good way to vent. Maybe next time you should try haiku? Well, I hope you're a lot more accustomed to taking care of your bearded dragons now. Have they been able to drink on their own yet? I hope Benny is doing alright although it seems you might want to trade him in for a healthier specimen =(

Pat, the test wasn't a final. In fact, it was almost the opposite. It was my first anatomy test of the semester. Anyway, you should really get yourself checked out. 3 migraines in such a short period of time? That's unheard of for you. I don't wanna sound naggy or anything but I'm your friend so I'm gonna tell you that you really ought to take better care of your health. Maybe you should try sleeping at somewhat normal hours, get some sunlight, spend less time in front of the computer, get more exercise, eat less saturated fats, eat more omega 3 fatty acids, and maybe get a health checkup. In other words, try to lead a more normal life. You might want to check your blood pressure as well. Try going to walmart and using the automatic one they have in their health department. It's not really the best way, but at least it'll give you a general idea. The reason I recommend checking your blood pressure is because they say migraines are usually caused by the increase in blood pressure in the brain. Anyway, just try to do something to take care of it. I'm sure it worries the rest of us.

Kim, maybe I oughta loan you my torch? Goodness gracious that's a lot of snow. Anyway, the name of the group was 4PM and the song they sang was Sukiyaki =) I think you have it the other way around on your blog. You should check out the original sukiyaki song which was performed by some japanese person whose name I can't remember at the moment but I'm sure Lisa knows =)

Kressler, you always pick interesting tidbits from other people's blogs to post. John Mayer certarinly has interesting things to say. I didn't know that he did some work with Herbie Hancock =) I really like Herbie Hancock's work. He's a very good jazz musician as far as I know. Anyway, I hope the new term has started off smoothly.

And Rodel, it's good to hear you're getting exercise again. Although I think you're the most physically active person in the group to begin with. Jeez, you certainly know how to push it though. I hardly like the word "miles" unless you're talking "miles per hour." =) I should probably do something as well but alas... I hardly ever make time for it. Well, at least I haven't outgrown the belt that you gave me =)

Anyway, I'm off to lab. Have a good day everyone! (I'll probably update the post later tonight once my day is done)

... just when you thought you could get away from my giant posts.... =P

Good luck...

on your final Albert, doubt you will see this before class though ;-)

Oh yeah, umm, no more Korean BBQ for me :-/ I'm 3 for 3 on the 'not feeling so great afterwards' feeling. It tastes so good though... :(
