augustana @ troubadour

i was looking at some small places to see & listen to bands...and i happened to see that we missed charlotte martin & ian ball at hotel cafe...arg. oh well. however, i magically ended up at the troubadour...

i know matt pond is playing there lisa.. =) it's a monday, a tragedy...no concert for me on a weekday. however, as i scrolled down, i saw augustana was headlining two shows there on 3/24 and 3/25...i'm not saying to go out and buy tickets. but you may want to think about those shows as well. they are a friday & a saturday. =)

ok, i am going to lay down...talk to you soon.

aqualung on dualdisc

hey hey hey...

we are busy busy people...hardly have time to breathe let alone blog. it's friday though...and apparently you're all doing things [or i think you are] and i am at home...about to lay down and fall asleep when i do not intend to. =)

aqualung is on dualdisc...and this one is worth buying [cuz not all of them are worth it i think...like the keane dualdisc]. the dvd side is another short film by his brother ben...which are always hilarious [learning to play the aqualung way is the best part i think] and there's video of him playing 2 songs. i also bought the new duncan today...haven't sat and listened to it all the way through, but i've already heard a bunch of the songs and know i will like it.

tomorrow is the first of 2 saturdays for decathlon. trying to be optimistic, but when half of your kids don't show to a mandatory meeting before the competition and of all the students maybe 2 have a speech written & no one has one memorized...now that not only disappoints me but it makes me angry...isn't it like some sort of defiance? it feels like it...the school pays a crapload of money for them to have this chance and they abuse it & don't appreciate all the work and support...all i can say is, on awards night...i better see some medals going in our direction. =) or they better have a medal made for me that says..."Most patient coach ever."

i miss seeing & talking w/ everyone...i know we all have very different lives now, but it doesn't mean i don't miss spending time with you all. hope you're all lovely & well...until our next electronic correspondence, ja mata. =)

Grey's Anatomy anyone?

So, the Museum of TV and Radio has this festival. Apparently, they have a panel of people from the show and there's an alleged meet and greet after. Grey's Anatomy will be appearing Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00 pm. if anyone is interested. I shall be attempting to get a ticket next Thursday when they go on sale =).

*hugs* to all!! =)

From Cynthia's Xanga - http://www.xanga.com/ItsAcinch
Jack put the ring and zipped it up in his jacket pocket, cause losing it in the snow would be devastating. Took the slopes up the mountain, and you can see teh view between the mountains of Lake Tahoe or Reno or whatever it was. It was snowing slowly, or sunny, i have no clue, and there on the top of the mountain, the proposal.

I had Korean BBQ with Jack on Sunday and it's funny, I told him that you can't say girlfirend anymore it's fiancee.

Wednesday school starts. Blah. All I need is a new L Shaped Desk, Particularly like Pats.

That is all.

3 day weekend glory

hey everyone...

after a long first week back at school, it's now saturday and things are looking better. monday is a holiday for us...w00t!

being back at school was sort of nice but sort of not... =) you probably know the reasons why not, but i liked being back in the classroom...like things are getting back to normal, including the chatter of my kids. this has been remedied by a stick whacking my desk whenever they are talking. =)

feels like i haven't seen or talked to you guys in so long...and it's actually true.

ALBERT - glad to see you are enjoying santa cruz...must be nice and i know you were longing for freedom. one day we'll have to see it. too bad we couldn't have one last get together before you left, but february is coming soon and we'll do something great for your birthday.

KIM - back in boston! and either busy as ever or partying hard since it's only the first week. =) i'm sure boston is more enjoyable cuz you and phil see each other on a regular basis. sad we didn't have dinner or something one last time...but you'll be back soon, and then we shall devour korean bbq together this time!

PATRICK - hey!! you know it's ok to leave the house and have communication other than through your computer right??? we haven't seen you since vegas...or talked to you. you're still a mokroopal that's in southern cali, so maybe you could hang out with us once in a while to get some fresh air - unless the house is in some alternate universe and this is not possible.

LISA - how was your first week back?? crazy kids from vacation...those first couple of days were ok, but when wednesday hit it was like a tornado of energy. glad you're actually getting the toilet fixed...lol. maybe we can do something this weekend, that is if you are not busy doing other things...i know your quarter ends soon. if you need help, let me know...it would be a nice break from my own work. =)

RODEL - hello my dear...i see you the most now! =) can't go on the cruise cuz 1) your vacation is the week before mine and i wouldn't have that friday off and 2) if i go on the cruise i won't be able to afford boston. how crazy that mr. patel is getting married in india...sounds like he gave in to the arranged marriage bid. dinner last night was yummy! prime rib was good...how odd that the chicken was not really cooked though. i still love black angus...that dinner for two was muy awesome!! and i got to eat creme brulee too...woo woo! going out to dinner is fun...next time we'll get you a stronger drink. love, love, love you.. =)

if anyone is around this weekend, it would be nice to get together. =) call me up for a dinner or what not...ikea is also having a sale...as well as crate & barrel. and...souplantaton has sent me some coupons too...hehe =) if i don't hear from anyone, enjoy any free time you have and perhaps we shall talk soon. =)

2nd post of the new year, muhaha.

Here's what my friend emailed me this morning,

Rodel,

As you may already know that I am in India and I just wanted to let you know that I got engaged on January 1st and I am getting married on January 20th.

Thanks
Jaz Patel

i'm up with kind of a big headache, but after the new year, there hasn't been anything exciting going on. Two days eating at the hat, two days of getting laptops for friends, fixing and reformatting desktops, and getting Tina a nice game item for her game character on WoW.

Tennis might be the only thing, other than work, that gets me out of the computer chair. Tell me if things are interesting. I click on your guys' blogs all the time for updates.

Hmm... Here I am...

First post of 2006. w00t ^-^

How is everybody doing? I feel a bit out of the loop. Not really having internet is a bit of a drag. I'm getting cable installed this wednesday so that won't be a problem too much longer =) Hehe.. then there's this whole furniture issue I need to take care of... Not having a desk or bed is umm.. interesting. That's why I'll be making a trip to ikea. I can at least get my desk there. I already went to one ikea but they didnt have the desk I wanted =P

Classes started on thursday... twas alright. Kinda boring so far. The classes they're making me take are pretty much review it seems. I'm pretty much used to the campus now. I can find my way around. I do a lot of walking that's for sure. I have a "remote" parking pass so I have to park in the remote parking lots so it takes a little bit of time to actually get to class. I like it though. Even though I only live one block away from "campus," I'm probably a good mile away from class. Yeah, the campus is a pretty good size. It is lovely though and the surrounding town is nice from what I can tell. Bikes are definitely the weapon of choice when it comes to transportation here it seems. Surfing is also highly popular here. (Mavericks had 60 foot waves the other day O_O ) I have not yet visited the beach but I plan on doing so soon.

I'm getting along well with my two housemates =) They're both very cool and mucho chill. We played poker the other night and we had two other people come and join us for poker. I actually got dealt 4 of a kind seven's.. Craaaaaaazy. It came down to just me and one of my housemates. We both went all in. He won with a straight that was higher by 1 card. Not bad for my first poker night =)

I am without a doubt enjoying my new found freedom. I can see how addicting it is already. I hope you guys are making the most of your time together. Thanks once again for the going away gifts. I've been happily using all of it. Anyway, I just want to let you know that I still think of you and I do miss you. I'm happy though and I hope it won't be too long before I see you again. Take care in the meantime.
