howdy all...so glad this week is finally over!! 7 more weeks of teaching and it will be the end of my 1st year... =)
lisa and i went to a free ben folds show at virgin megastore yesterday...it was so awesome!! i have not always been the biggest ben folds fan...but i do really like this new album of his and admire his very awesome piano work. he was rockin' yesterday...opened up with a cover of inbetween days by the cure...w00t! he also performed *bitches ain't shit* by dr. dre & snoop...it was worth the parking frustration just to hear those 2 songs. he played a few from the new album including bastard, jesusland & landed...and i didn't recognize the rest of the songs. =) gotta see him live...
afterwards, lisa and i had wristbands (thanks lisa for getting them!!) for a signing. it was not that exciting...we stood in line for about 1.5 hours and when we got to the front, we gave him what we wanted signed, a post-it if we wanted it personalized...and then they took a picture if we had a camera...then bid us farewell and to get out of the store. hehe...that's all right though...i have a signed cd cover + a picture =)
i will buy aqualung tickets today...so if you change your minds, let me know asap.
today mr. wilmoth pulled a surprise visit on me.. =) gosh, it's so hard to decide on things...especially now that i got an exceptional review this year from admin. and they asked me to coach OCAD at esperanza. he said i'd be a great OCAD coach.. =) but he also said for me to think about the katella position.
we also got to talking about concerts...guys, we're not that crazy. he has/had tickets for 4 U2 concerts...anaheim, san diego, las vegas & LA - floor seats nonetheless! how crazy is that...plus, he has tickets for springsteen & the eagles too. perhaps it is my influence that is rubbing off on him lately..hehe. i just thought it was funny to hear about all his concerts this time around...him having more concerts than us? shameful! =) we had a nice conversation and i'm glad i got to see him...hooray for random visits! =)
i'm not sleepy and it's past 3:30 as i type this...it's because i slept from about 5:30 to 9...knocked out from the week. albert & rodel came over then...fixed my computer (thanks guys!) and we went to harry's...yum! everything is hunky-dory...
maybe we can get together sometime this weekend...it seems to be a bit slow. maybe a sunday social gathering...i guess we'll decide later. =) for now, have a good day... =)

cartoons!!
hmm...cartoons. seems so long ago...but i do recall a few =)
carebears, muppet babies, robotech, popeye, tom & jerry, chip n' dale, darkwing duck, mighty mouse, the flintstones, the jetsons, inspector gadget, tiny toons, animaniacs, pinky & the brain, freakazoid, the tick, bugs bunny & looney tunes, the littles, dennis the menace, alvin & the chipmunks, garfield, spongebob, teenage mutant ninja turtles, scooby doo, winnie the pooh
in comparison to albert, i guess i'm not much of a cartoon person...i think my favorites were muppet babies, freakazoid and robotech...they are a shady memory now.
times are changing...i remember waking up on weekday mornings and there was nothing on except cartoons...now it's all morning news and no cartoons. i get to watch the traffic report and weather instead of animation now.
and...i know these aren't cartoons, but i used to watch swan's crossing (teenage soap opera) before school but it was on super early...reading rainbow, which was the best...and ghostwriter which was about these teens who solve mysteries because of this weird "ghostwriter" that would send them written messages...hehe.

Salutations Kim
Ahh... Batman the Animated series... an enjoyable classic for all time. One of the few Batman franchises that actually kept with the spirit of Batman, unlike our governor "Freeze!" "Chill Out!" *shudders* And yeah, it's kinda amazing how many animators know about Miyazaki isn't it? =) Even the guys at Pixar often turn to Miyazaki for inspiration. We should all have a Miyazaki movie night and buy some Jiffy Pop or borrow my sister's popcorn maker. Twould be fun.

GAH DAMNIT!
OI VAY! Andrew Bird was at the Largo April 5th and 6th!!! *rams his head into a wall & kicks his own ass*
so friggin sad....
Anyway.. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way but.... things have been hectic lately! I have that 10 page paper due mañana and I didn't get as much done as I had liked because apparently there was a family party on Sunday. No one tells me these things anymore. I was wondering why on earth anyone would vacuum so early sunday morning... It also forced me to clean my room because I can't have guests looking into the midst of an unsightly mess... but at least I have a clean room now and.... Fortunately for me, I had a test this Wednesday that has been to be postponed till Monday.. w00t!
Well, I'm glad we're able to squeeze in our weekend excursions even with all the work that there is to be done. The Phoenix concert managed to be surprising. The first opening group Joy Zipper, was surprisingly not joyful at all. Dogs Die in Hot Cars, they were indescribably good but I'm gonna try to describe how good they were anyway.... They rock. As for Phoenix, that was quite surprising as well. You listen to the album and you're like "hey, this is pretty good" and you're tappin your toes.... When we heard them in concert, they didnt sound like that at all. I don't think I heard music until halfway through the performance. The first half of the concert was them ROCKIN OUT. I seriously never suspected. It was awesome. Another surprise was that it was actually loud. I mean, even for me, it was loud. I think half the audience either became deaf or was deaf to start with. I'm surprised no one was bleeding from the ear. So yeah, it was an interesting experience. From the $15 parking, the complete absence of people 45 minutes before the show, the fact we were able to get in front and stay in front, the faint smell of weed, the fact it was the first time I had seen the Hollywood stars, to the show itself.. it was all interesting. Surprisingly there weren't too many people or a single person who managed to entirely ruin the show. Yes, there were those crazy girls, that one girl who danced a little too close and tried to sneak her boyfriend to the front, and that other bitch (that should be spayed or shot so that her behavioral traits are not passed on) who plowed her obnoxious self and dragged her boyfriend to the front... but all in all, at least we didn't see monkey girl.
Oh yes, it was nice actually talking to Nick again. I haven't seen him in a while and I know that you guys see him even less than me (with the exception of Pat). It's too bad we're never there when everyone else is there.
I'm so anxious to finish up this semester. Only 3.5 more weeks! Then the real fun can begin =) Let's plan something for this weekend as well.. Anyway, I think I've procrastinated long enough...
*I also managed to successfully update my computer so it actually uses less electricity now and automatically throttles down when it's idling. I think your new computer, Kressler, either does the same or is able to do the same. ^_^ And finally to waste some of your time..Check This Out .. Don't watch it unless you've seen Pulp Fiction (I really hope that doesn't apply to any of you)

cool guy
michelle is a friend of mine at MCP, and this past weekend i hung out at her place in Providence and met some of her friends. this cool guy to the right is Greg, and the only reason he was worthy enough to get a blog post was because of his awesome Guster sweatshirt, which i took a picture of just to show Kressler and Lisa. heheh... i think you're right Kressler, all the good concerts (and by extension, cool concert going people) are in the east. =)

Urgh...
Anatomy sure packs a wallop. Last week, I took a practical for the class and in the same week we had a quiz. This week we have another test (tomorrow) and the week after (on Tuesday) we have a 10 page report due. Meanwhile, I have an independent experiment to work on as well as another exam on Wednesday of next week in a different class.
Anyway, onto brighter topics ^_^ Yes, some of us have been blogging since 2001. It's impressive to think that you guys started the blogger 3 and half years ago and have just kept going with it. Hehe, I think I was first mentioned on June 16th, 2003 which is the date after Kim's Graduation par-tay. After that, Patrick and I started hanging out with you guys more often until we began blogging with you a bit later (me a couple months after Pat). Now here we are. So I decided to look back a bit at memory lane yesterday (old blogs), things have changed a bit haven't they? Hehe, you guys really liked taking those "this is what you are" quizzes. Kressler, you made gigantamous entries back then (the kind I took slack for because people started to go blind by the end of the post) and your posts had a totally different feel to them. In fact, almost all of you seemed a bit wackier back then =) Not to say you're not wacky now... I used to make bigger posts more often as well, and Patrick actually posted back then ^_~ . So to put things in perspective I've known the mokroo for almost 2 years now. 2 years isn't really that much time but an incredible amount of things have happened in that time and it's amazing how fast we became good friends. Anyway, I know I don't say this often or if I've ever even said it but... I heart you all ^_^ 3 cheers for the mokroopals!
So back to the present, Phoenix concert Friday! w00t! It feels like it's been a while since our last concert. Because you know, if we havent been to a concert within a week or two of the last one, it's been a while =) So the agrred upon time to meet was 4:30 or 5 at Kresslers? Rodel, I can probably come up early if you want help with the computer, if so let me know. This week is my pick so make room on saturday for it! eating time and recovery time! >=) I don't mind picking out of turn or twice in a row... By the way Kressler, what did you think of Shinsengumi?
The weather has been lovely lately, we should make a trip to the beach or just go out and get some sun and activity. I think that'd be nice. I think it's time to start making up for all those food outings with some activity ones ^_^ So here we go onto my usual...
Patrick.. hehe.. things are gonna get really hectic for you in 3 days huh? I can't say I feel TERRIBLY sorry since v4 has been a long time in coming. Anyway, it's good to know you'll be getting to work but try to get a bit of sleep. Maybe I'll drop by and provide you with some breakfast burritos to fuel your brain. Anyway, I hope you're able to meet your deadline and we'll have to take you out to celebrate the completion of v4 =)
Lisa.. I'll try to make you a music CD and give it to you when I see you for the concert. I think I need to make a new cd for myself since I've been listening to the same MP3 cd for a while now. Have fun at the book fair and try not to mob some poor author!
Kressler.. Umm.. have fun watching Lisa go "Holy Monsters!" at the book fair? I hope you're having an ok time at school. Don't let those punks give you too much trouble =) hehe.. after all deep, deep, deep deep down they're good kids. Your first year of teaching on your own is almost over ^_^ Hopefully it'll be a bit easier next year. Hang in there though! Another month and a half and you'll get some much deserved relaxation.
Kim.. I'll try to send you those final fantasy songs again if I see you online. It'll give you a decent idea of the melodies that you might hear at the concert. Anyway, hope school and partying are going well over there in Boston but make sure to save some of that atomic liver of yours for us alright? You've still gotta drink with us ^_^
Rodel.. Same goes for you, make sure you're able to play some tennis during the summer =) hehe.. You must be anxious. Almost all the parts have come in other than the processor. Wow, there is GLORY to be had! You must have the same place in your heart for building things as I do =) Thank Goodness for NewEgg.com... seriously... It is as close to instant gratification as I can think of... You ordered the parts Sunday night and you get them tuesday morning? Crazy...
Anyway, off I go to study 6 chapters of anatomy text for my exam tomorrow. I think I need to thoroughly wash my car soon as well. Maybe a car wash day? Oh yeah, DO NOT nap immediately after taking a shower with your hair still wet. I seriously look like DragonBallZ right now....

weekend outings
hey everyone....
first off, congrats to our kimmy for gettin' her groove on with everclear onstage. =) we bow down to the *hot* mokroopal rockin out on stage. =)
ok, so on saturday we're going to roscoe's with justin...let's assume at night?? khanin's birthday at joe's crab shack is on saturday afternoon...anyone planning on going? rodel can't go...so if anyone else is, it would be nice to know...i do love joe's crab shack!
and...rodel & i were talking today...do you guys want to go to the outlets on sunday morning...say around 10ish?? i haven't gone yet...let's make it a mokroopal excursion. =)
well, i guess relaxation time is over...i should get some work done. tomorrow night i'll be chaperoning the spring fling dance at school until 1030 or so...and then i'm free. so if you guys are awake then maybe we can hang out..if not, talk to you guys saturday. =)

gavin, howie & tolcher..in VA
hello all...
i just read that gavin degraw, howie day and michael tolcher are doing a special show in virginia on 6/29...that would be so completely awesome to see!!
i haven't blogged in a while...sorry! my internet was out since friday...and this week has been quite hectic with grades due for 3rd quarter. i am taking a much needed day off tomorrow...to recharge my battery, organize myself and get some work done.
Can you believe the phoenix concert is next week, and then about 2 weeks after that we have maroon 5? =) Maybe we should go to concerts around the nation as our vacation this summer...hehe =) the more i think about it, the more i like it.. =)

Green Day
Haha...we were just talking about Green Day in a buzzed state...but I just got an email for their show. I thought it was a funny occurance. So, in case anyone was really interested...the mid-level seats are $47.50 with charges on Sunday, October 8 at the Home Depot Center.

A Looong Day...
Wow.. it was nice to finally meet Justin... the guy who makes it mokrooton instead of mokroopal... He seems like a very nice guy.
So I hope you were okay today Lisa, I'm sure we all left a bit of a mess and we filled your cabinets with even MORE junk food =) I'll come back to help you finish that ice cream though!
Anyway, I had to wake up at 8 today.. which is early for a sunday morning.. I went to file my taxes along with my mom and dad and pay my dues to the Federal Government whom I'm sure will abuse some of it. After that I got to eat Bun Thit Nuong (bwaha) at Vien Dong <- (pronounced vieng DOM you sickos! It's also located somewhere close to Brookhurst and Hazard I believe). I also helped my dad install a toilet today which took a couple runs to Home Depot. It's been a pretty long day already but I still have schoolwork and laundry to do. Sadness!
Well, at least I have my Ratatat CD to keep me company =)
(Rodel please ask DX soon, Lisa I'll bring back your CD along with some other songs you might like, and Kressler I will bring Tara's set of pictures so you can distribute them, I hope V4 is going well Pat, and you just keep on doin whatever it is that you're doin Kim!)

As for the concert on July 14th... I'm planning on buying the tickets by this Monday.. So Rodel, please get in touch with DX soon if he wants to go. I don't plan on inviting many more people so let me know quickly if you know of anyone who may be interested. Anyway, here's a list of the people slated to go (besides myself)..
