Recovering for Wednesday

i'm recovering from my heavy workout today, triceps and bicepts, and then a hard sprint on the basketball court, and then two miles of jogging around the school in which I developed a mild sore throat, hopefully it's mild, well my intake of fluids has definitely increased, and i'm watching episdoes of American Idol across from my bed, while trying to stay warm and clearing my throat with water. I'm going for tea next, or else warm water and salt.

I'm getting ready for my anatomy test manana as well as the two other classes I have tomorrow. I also installed my new wiper blades today >=D woot! Yeah, I know there isn't any rain but didnt you read the title of this post? ^_^ So today has been full of preparing for the worst and getting ready for nothing... I hope you're all using your time in an interesting fashion.

If you truly do want to do something this weekend, then we should make some definite plans. Plans for saturday would be best. Anyway, if you guys want to go out to eat tomorrow night then give me a call. I'm in the mood for Asian or Indian food. So that means, most likely, curry or chinese food.

shopping and maroon 5

lisa and kress, i don't know when was the last time you guys went shopping, but there is the CUTEST shirt at american eagle. it says "love means nothing" and there's a tennis ball for the o. instead of studying, i was looking at clothes online and naturally, the shirt caught my eye. ;)

on another note, maroon 5 tix go on sale tomorrow. did anyone get presale info from the house of blues?? i was perusing ticketmaster and it said presale for hob, but i never got an email and i'm a bit irked. sadness :(

hope everyone's week is going well. snowed again today, i was hoping classes would be cancelled again, but alas, no, i had to trudge through snow, both on the ground and falling. maybe tomorrow!! :)

Grrrrr-ades

Hehe...well...as much as the students hate their report cards coming out...the teachers hate them even more =). lol...I hate report card time, it's always this horrible event that takes forever and seems to wear at every ounce of your body =). I've only written 3 comments and I'm already pooped. Someday I shall begin my comments way in advance =).

Hehe...I agree with Kress...we've got to get our Mokroopal behinds in one place this weekend!...the same place at the same time!! =)

final exams

it's finals week at school...3 days of finals. day 1 is over...only 2 more to go...2 minimum days no less. =) so far the scores are looking decent....couple of F's for each class....a few A's...and lots of B's and C's. that makes me optimistic for the rest of the periods. i think the test is easy...i mean, it's a final but it's more general.

since the weekend i've been exhausted...making final exams is tough. so much work involved...now i have to catch up on grading and other such things...at least friday is a non-student day. i can get a good amount of work done with these 2 minimum days and the "day off" friday. i'm going to try to get it done or most of it done by the weekend...so i can just turn my semester grades in monday.

well, you people have blogged about hanging out the past couple of weekends - all LIES! =) i know we're all busy..but we should have some fun - this is coming from me, one that is always doing her work! and if nothing else and you guys don't want to have fun...you can help me build my tv unit [a smaller one now] and my new dresser... =)

now...off i go to grade, sleep or perhaps both... =)

Pangs of Procrastination

I suppose there are just some things you cannot learn, such as getting past procrastination. Tody was a snowday, classes were cancelled. They said we should take this day to keep up with our studies. No such luck with me. I went out to lunch earlier and had meant to stay vigil at a starbucks, but it was too cold for me to want to stay outside too late, so I went back home, afterwhich I've only been able to read one of my assignments, totally foregoing all others. BAH!

Snow is pretty, but also very cold. I went to a yoga class last week and I really liked it, so I think i'm going to make it a weekly event. I was going to go to a Pilates class today too, but all the snow made me want to stay at home. I'm going to attempt Kickboxing tomorrow and see how it goes. Look at me, domesticated AND geting exercise.

Oh Lisa, total bummer about Maroon 5. I mourn for you. Curse the universe!!

not to make you feel worse or anything but i just found this on gavin's site. apparently, it was a contest for teachers to make a lesson based on his song "i don't want to be." it was for all grades and teachers...winners get to have gavin visit their school, receive money and gavin memorabilia...hehe. as creative as i think i am, i think it might be hard to make up a lesson plan around that song for my class...maybe you would have been better at it. the rock n' roll library [in boston] will have the lesson plans up in the next month or so..hehe.

well, like i said before. i will treat you to a nice ribeye on thursday as we go to outback with gabe...we just went to outback, but apparently he is craving prime rib lately. oh well, we shall fill our stomachs with steaks and be merry...and you can drink and curse stupid maroon 5 contests! =)

ultimate sadness

ok...here's some ultimate sadness...

it's rare to win anything, i'm just not that lucky. sure, i'll win an occasional raffle where the prize is a hershey bar or a book i already own, but this, this takes the cake. i open my email today to find a "congratulations lisa" and with closer inspection realize it's telling me i would have been a winner for the maroon 5 contest had i called customer service on thursday!!!!! omg!!!!! I've been so wrapped up in other stuff I figured any email i received couldn't possibly be that important and could wait until I found the time....and look what happened!!!! now...no more maroon 5! ahhhh!!!

Booooo Migraines

So in the last week I have had 2 migraines :-( I've never had more than 1 a month before. So a lot of this week has sucked. Still wasting my life away in front of the computer. Hope you guys are doing something more constructive and having fun :)

Who needs a title?

So the second week of classes has ended... I've been pretty busy since school started but things are always busy when you get back from a vacation huh? =) I'm taking 3 lab classes this semester... unfortunately all 3 of them are tuesday and thursday =P At least my mondays and wednesdays arent too ugly. Yeah, the vegas money was no match for school books ... Lots of other things going on to keep me busy... Apparently my cousin and her daughter are most likely going to be moving in with us sometime around the middle of February. My mom also plans on fixing up a lot of things around the house. Most likely our plumbing system will get a tune-up as well as wood flooring for the entire front half of the house. I'm planning on using the opportunity to redecorate. I'm looking into getting a bedframe, a new desk, and maybe a new bookshelf. My new wiper blades for my car still haven't come in yet.. well, one of them came in but I'm still waiting on the second one. It looks like it'll be a while before I'll need to use them anyway. The weather has been awfully vunderbar lately ^_^ Let's make the most of the opportunity and hangout this weekend yeah? =)

Is everything ok now kressler? what a fiasco that seemed like.... I wouldn't call it bad luck.. unless you consider it bad luck when someone ignores your wishes =P Well, if you wish to get rid of the mold in the carpeting I have a steam vac you can use =)

Hmm Pat... I seemed to have made an error in judgement... maybe a 40x60 poster wasnt the best idea... hehe.. apparently frames that size aren't very common, and I'm sure you'd realize that if you've done some searching. Oh yeah, I got a new cd, and I think you'll want a copy of it =)

Oh yeah, I don't think I'll be attending any concerts in the near future. =( I'm not sure why, but I just don't feel up for it. Perhaps that'll change in the future, but for now, I wanna take it easy. I'm also at a loss in terms of doing anything for my b-day. Maybe I'm sad that I don't get to be 21 anymore. It's certainly a very fun age to be =)

very bad luck...

so today sort of sucked. my brother and sister came up to hand off my brother's new electric guitar & mini-amp to him for his birthday...we ate lunch and they hung out for a while. they were supposed to be helping me put together the entertainment unit they got me....but they were being lazy punks about it. so finally around 3 or so, my mom gets us up and into my room. i spent the whole morning moving things away from the wall so we could put it in.

last week my sister said they would come up to help me put it together since it's so huge and heavy...yeah, that didn't really happen. first of all, i measured my wall and found that it had to take up the entire wall space and that still covered my light switch. we figured it was ok though...so my sister goes in to move my now empty file cabinet to find that it has pretty much rusted to the carpet. my room is next to the bathroom...and over the years there's probably been moisture seeping through or a leak in the wall...so naturally it went into the corner of my room where the file cabinet was. it was absolutely digusting...rust all over the carpet and to top it off...mold on the wall. that's just great...mold can really get some people sick...just seeing it was disgusting. and it's in my room...so now my crap is randomly laying about, i can't put anything on the wall since they want to see if it's still leaking...there's no damn way i will put anything in that corner anymore, so now we have to return the unit and get something smaller [they want to get me something smaller...i really only wanted a cd shelf], and now i fear i am inhaling hazardous spores of fungus and mildew. my mother cleaned it up and now it's drying out...but still. i'm quite paranoid about all this stuff....bleh.

i told my sister to not get me an entertainment unit...it was a present from both my mom and sister...but for goodness sake, did she listen to me? now it is a complete mess! my mom felt bad about what happened since she "talked" my sister into getting it...i tried to tell her that it was really my sister's idea and i told her from the beginning not to get me one. did she tell my mom that? nope. my mom only wanted to get me something that would clean up my room and look nice...and now she feels guilty, so now i feel bad my mom feels that way. life sort of sucks now...

next weekend, my sister is bringing a steam vac to clean out the corner...we're going to ikea to exchange my entertainment unit for a smaller one and hopefully i will not be losing my sanity. i have all my files on my bed now...and lots of other random crap. some of it has been displaced to my brother's room. on top of this, i just have 8 million other things to do...including grading and making final exams and reviews. boo.....

well, since only lisa responded to my open invitation to the gavin & tolcher show on 2/13/05...i shall only buy tickets for her and myself tomorrow. anyone else who wishes to attend shall have to buy their ticket on their own!

life has been weird lately...i woke up late twice this week. well, i wasn't really "late" but late in terms of not getting up at my normal hour and not having enough time to shower and such. grr....i hate that not clean feeling all day. i never wake up late...but it happened twice in one week! and the week isn't over...whoa. next week will be short but chock-full of work. getting ready for finals...make reviews, make the final exam...

i think i am going to go to ikea sometime this weekend. i want to buy a new dresser...and possibly a new nightstand. the trick will be to get a large dresser in my car...hmm...i might just browse instead...or have it delivered? bah...who knows. i also need to go to costco to develop some film...and petsmart....and target...and starbucks (to get gabe a gift card)...

i think we're putting my entertainment center together too...good grief, there's too much to do now...so much for relaxing weekends. we should do something this weekend...it is technically a 3 day holiday weekend. =) maybe dinner or drinking or me asleep on someone's couch as the rest of you are doing something... =) for now though, i shall grade...or pretend to grade at least. talk to you guys later... =)

random ramblings

So, ok, I'm back and blogging. Tore myself away from World of Warcraft so that I can post this (ok, I admit it, the server is down so I can't play). Vegas was good times, although a few things I think will fall under the slogan "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," right Lisa? :)

My sleep schedule was quite messed up when I got back - you have no idea. You thought my schedule was bad waking up at 12:00pm, I woke up at 9pm the other night! Fear not, I stayed up for 24 hours and fixed my schedule, waking up at noon once again (yay for 15 hours leep). Back to the good old sleep schedule.

Albert, if you see this before Mraz time, I'll probably just drop by your place and you can drive up to Kressler's place. My car is making some noises, I am taking it into the mechanic on Monday. Something to do with the clutch :( Bleh.

Kress, I'm sorry...for some odd reason, it's that mid-year stress deal...you'll make it through. If you ever need help grading or anything, let me know =). You can call some grading parties and we'll grade and eat snacks and drink hot cocoa =) hehe...

You know, one of the teachers called me organized...hahahahaha...she doesn't see the madness behind the supposed structured setting =). lol...she attributed it to the fact that I'm single and have the time...I contemplated that thought and realized...omg...I am a control freak who doesn't leave the classroom until she's the last person on campus b/c she's single with nothing much else to do...wah! hehehehehe...but no worries...I came to my senses and realized...ah...my apartment is messy enough and I play enough to know that bah...I just enjoy my job =)......for now ;).

blogging out of boredom. um, cleaned today, kinda. moved most of my clothes to my new 'room'. put some pictures in my ikea frame. found books to bring to boston. realized that i fit into jeans i long ago written off as too tight (must've lost ass weight because of all the walking in boston)! hmmm, room is still a mess. i don't understand!

4pm, a good time, as well as an awesome song by sukiyaki. =) no worries, i have listened to objections and so we shall leave at 4ish. =)

i did not watch aliast tonight, shamefully, but i was drunk... so that was a sufficient substitute. we went to The Standard, which, if you ever want to drink, you should go there. It's a bar atop a rooftop with water beds and comfy counches. i've been there before, which is why i returned there tonight. i wanted to be sex-and-the-city-sh... holding a drink in my hand whilst having deep and meaningful conversations. PLUS, we were under the stars, which i am always a fan of. i will have to catch up on alias via reruns now. =)

100% exhausted

i too am exhausted coming back this week. not getting enough work done...as usual! it is to be expected i suppose...waking up early is very difficult. i think i am very dumb. i had them do a hw assignment and extra credit projects...due on friday. and a test next week...final exams by the end of the month. i'll be busy.

i want to take a day off. this week might be bad...but any day i choose would be "bad" in my mind. sometimes making a sub plan is more exhausting than the actual teaching. i will rethink this...maybe next week it shall happen.

albert, i'm not quite sure i can be as optimistic about that bird....but i don't see it as a sign of bad luck though. I think the bird ended up where it did because it knew that lisa would help it. =) and as for mraz...i suggest leaving an hour later, like 4pm. that way we are still incredibly early...but i don't have to occupy myself for over 2 hours.

i hope you all watched alias tonite...it was soooo good!! APO...that black ops facility looks amazing...but how can they not have weiss too? how can they have everyone else...even marshall?

Yeah, I agree. I have been more lethargic than usual since getting back. I've also been a bit stressed but thankfully I don't start school for another week. I'm also happy I get to sleep in my own bed again. I'm sorry to hear you found a dead bird at your doorstep Lisa and even worse they reminded you of Peas and Carrots. Was Peas the evil one? Well, maybe you should take a different viewpoint on the whole situation and it'll make you feel better. Maybe the bird thought it could be safe if it headed to your apartment, and that's why it chose your apartment instead of other ones. Maybe it was some kuh-razy kamikaze bird who wanted to go down in a blaze of glory. Maybe it was struck by lightning so it was a flaming kuhrazy kamikaze bird shooting across the rainy darkness of night, and maybe some little kid mistook it for a shooting star and made a wish. Who knows? =) As for the crying fits, goodness, I didn't know it was that bad. I think you'll be far better off this year, this is your second year as a full fledged teacher isn't it? I think new teachers always have it worst because they just dont have a foundation to work on. Planning and preparation stress you out, and grading bogs you down. I'm sure as you get used to it though, you'll make life easier for yourself. Like wine, you'll get better with time.

Getting there at 4:30 sounds ok.... what are we going to do for the 2.5 hours though? =) Anyway, Pat.. Lisa... let me know how you want to get there and I'll be happy to oblige. Hmm... so the question is: sandals or comfy shoes?

Interesting day...

Well, back in school and things are crazy already...one of the teachers at our meeting today started crying because she's entirely too stressed out. It made me sad. I remember how hard things were last year and I just hope that I won't have to result to late night crying fits anymore =).

There was a dead bird on my doorstep today. Sadness. Here's the biscuit that I am too...I couldn't look at the thing...and I couldn't touch the thing...so I wore a rubber glove and picked it up with a paper towel, put it in a double grocery bag and took it to the trash. I'm guessing it ran into my window during the storm, I don't know...it reminded me of my hamsters.

I took out my tree today...so my apartment is now back to it's non-Christmas state =). Phew, I accomplished that before the close of the first January week, I have succeeded! =)

Are you guys exhausted? I feel so drained! I haven't been able to get back to a normal sleep pattern, so I'm sleepy everyday! My eyes closed yesterday on the freeway and I started changing lanes...scary...I'm going to hurt someone! Today it was a Pepsi on the way home.
