Seriously I wanted to chill in the shade for the whole day at the Lake. Thank you matt and lisa for hosting there, and I hope we do more there, it's great, and w/o the sunburn.

*Soda (2-liters/cups) & Water (bottles) - I do not endorse bringing alcohol.
*Ice (I have 2 coolers)


We could use things like:
charcoal/lighter fluid/matches
BBQ tools (spatula, tongs...)
plates
napkins
trash bags
sides/snacks - like chips, cookies, veggies/fruit
ketchup/mustard/relish

Vegetarian fare...

Some vegetarian options from a yelper =) I've only eaten at Au Lac before but I hear these places are very, very good...

Greens Cafe - Irvine (Yelp)...Looks like they sell organic & vegetarian food here, using tofu and meat substitutes

The Gypsy Den - Santa Ana (Yelp)...has a lot of veggie options and some meat options


Au Lac - Fountain Valley (Yelp)...has vegetarian, vegan & raw food here; uses and sells the artificial/tofu "meat" here. I have eaten the nem nuong cuon (bbq pork rolls), cha gio (egg rolls), bun bo hue (royal noodle soup), ca kho to (clay pot fish), cha ca thang long (grilled fish on a hot plate), ap chao (chow fun), mi xao (chow mein noodles) and bo luc lac (sauteed beef with watercress). Just about everything here tastes great...they also have some good desserts! It's in a corner of a stripmall so it may be hard to see just driving

Yelp Event - OC Fair Preview on 7/9

Woohoo!! Yelp Elite Event is going to be a preview of the OC Fair on Thursday 7/9 from 7-10pm.

The theme?? BACON! Lots and lots of bacon dishes to try like bacon mac n' cheese, bacon gelato, ground bacon burgers, candied bacon, vegan bacon...plus complimentary beer samples and bourbon. Other samples of deep-fried foods will also be there.

It's free and each elite can bring TWO people to the event. =) That means between Kim and me, we can have 4 people go with us so please comment if you want to go.

Funny how the free alcohol doesn't get me excited - but the bacon does! =)
