San Francisco 4.16.09 - 4.18.09

San Francisco Question...

Albert & Tara!! We get into SFO at around 4pm Thursday and our flight is at 430pm Saturday - I know you two have work but let us know if you can visit with us during that time. =)

So Rodel & I are booked for SF this week but when we arrive, I'm debating how to get from the airport to the hotel.

Should we...
1) Take the BART ($6 each - cheapest but probably makes me the most nervous. plus, not sure if I want lug my bags and then have a moderate walk from the station to the hotel...plus plus, I don't know the streets of SF unless I carry a lame map with me everywhere)
2) Reserve a shuttle ($30 for two of us - it would be a shared van probably...gives more peace of mind since it goes straight to the hotel. we have to book ahead of time though)
3) Taxi (more than $30 - goes straight to the hotel and we don't need to book ahead of time but obviously the most expensive option)

Then, I have to think about that for our trip back to the airport...so, what do we think?

I know I tend to overthink things like this but that is what a Kressler does. =)

P.S. I'm thinking of dim sum in Chinatown! =)

Did Kutner die for a cause?? lol

So if you guys watch "House," you saw that he died on Monday's show because of suicide...which really did not make much sense to me because he seemed cool. Well look what I found in the news today:

Actor Kal Penn joins White House team

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House has hired actor Kal Penn as a liaison between President Barack Obama's administration and Asian constituents.

White House spokesman Shin Inouye said Tuesday that the actor who had a recurring role on Fox's TV show "House" and has starred in several movies would join the staff as an associate director in the Office of Public Liaison. His role will be to connect Obama with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities, as well as arts groups.

Penn starred as Kumar in the movie, "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." His "House" character committed suicide in Monday's episode.

Penn backed Obama during the campaign. The White House says a start date for Penn hasn't been set.

CLAWS!! - ok, I've seriously wanted some crawfish for a month now but my plans have always been foiled!! Who wants to join in on the saucy goodness? =) [For Rodel, there's chicken tenders, gumbo/jambalaya, steak, seafood pasta, tilapia/catfish either fried or cajun grilled...if you choose to put up with our shell-shucking]

Yuki Sushi!! - some of the BEST sushi I've had...not that I am a sushi expert but it's super fresh & tasty with very good prices. Plus, we usually get free miso soup & edamame...one time we got free salad and another time we got free fried calamari. =) And apparently the owner likes me - been only twice but the 2nd time I went in, she smiled and gave me a hug cuz she remembered me as the happy/smiley girl. haha. =) It's not a very big place...sort of small & not fancy inside but it's very yummy.

KFC - Korean Fried Chicken!! - You know you want some chicken from BBQ =)


I am also sad to report that Kaju Tofu (the place on Valley View & LaPalma) & Big Bite Chinese (On Lincoln...with the chow fun) have closed...I loved those places. =(

Just letting you know I'm back in town. Sorry I couldn't make it to dinner yesterday. I started driving down after I left from work so I didn't get back till around 1AM.
