i forgot to tape the ellen show today with maroon 5...i was so tired, i completely forgot about it.. =( oh well...
today was a good school day... =)
kids were great today, that is not a shock...my master teacher was talking to me after class today and said, so when are you going to start teaching these kids? they want to see you teach, i want to see you teach...and i sort of said, uhm no one really wants to see me teach yet...and he said that yes, they all do and that out of all the student teachers he's ever had, he feels i am the most ready at this point and has the most confidence in me to teach...which is incredible to hear but doesn't make it any less petrifying for me...he has a thing about honesty and i know he wouldn't say it unless he meant it...wow, he thinks i will be a great teacher...it's scary. =)
when both of my teachers finish up this current unit on macromolecules, they have both asked me to begin some teaching with the next unit: the cell =) that may be as soon as next week...whoa.
the only other news going on in student teaching these days is that the students feel very comfortable with me. i have one vietnamese student who asked how old i was so he knew what to call me in vietnamese...i told him just don't call me ba or bac...and he asked whether he should call me chi or co...and i said, call me miss nguyen =) and then in another class, one of my students kept saying hi to me...which i thought was odd..and his friend was like, stop flirting with her...lol. kids these days...
and i usually have class at fullerton on tuesday nites, but my 4pm class had a guest speaker so we met at savannah...before class i watched katella's frosh/soph team beat savannah...yay! and then off to class, which was so awesome. the "teacher" is the district coordinator for science curriculum so she gave us so much useful info on teaching science, great ideas to use with the students in the classroom, and free supplies...we walked out with handouts, vocab stuff, root words in latin & greek to help ELL students, and packs of cards, post-its, pens, markers and so on...it was like a teacher christmas. =) now i am home, doing some homework...hehe =)
i will blog more when my homework gets boring again.. =)
