Tonight a letter was received by our admin from our lbpac@yahoo.com email address and read this: the message was... "How could you people give away Abercrombie Gift card when you as an Asian club should know that this store mocked the Chinese community with their shirts back in 2002? I myself wrote a research paper on it. They are racist and over 20 college Asian clubs boycotted about this. Your club is IGNORANT and need to do your homework before you act like you know so much about forming a cultured club." by kuriousjen@yahoo.com

News spread rapidly, many people know about this, and since we're sending back a reply, Kress suggested this reply.

...that we did know about the controversy and did take it into account. However, it was a fundraiser that was decided on as a club and many have responded well to it. Simply because other clubs have made it a battle to tackle that is not necessarily the goal of PAC. the truth of the matter is that it did mock the chinese community but millions of asian americans still shop at the store. it is not the responsibility of PAC to tell people to not go to a certain place. individuals make that choice for themselves and if they feel so strongly against it then they do not need to participate in the fundraiser.

A lot of cabinet loved the reply and also for your information, DX used to work at A&F, so he's sending a PERSONAL email right back to her. So we are sending one email from cabinet right to her as long as she doesn't take away our future potential members, we know we lost her,but that's a sacrifce well decided.

ok thought I'd share that with you. =p
