Kim!! Hooray!! We miss you lots!! I'm glad you're getting the hang of things in Boston. =)

Hunny...it's ok dear. put in 100% effort, do your best, keep a positive attitude, minimize distractions and take responsibility. i think those are the keys to success and you'll be fine as long as you keep focused and work hard. love you man. =)

so...today was my first official day at the school. they changed me from all biology to 3 biology & 2 life science. that change was ok...i mean, my first year it would be nice to have only 1 prep but i understand they need certain classes and i'm fine with life science. and today, there was yet another change. i got moved from the science classroom/lab to a standard classroom. it kind of sucks because if i want to do labs requiring electricity or water i can't in my room because there are not outlets at tables [cuz i don't have lab tables] and i have no sinks, because the room was intended for like language arts or special ed i think. ho hum...it was a bit disappointing to be the only teacher without a science classroom, but i guess they hired more science teachers than they thought they would need and didn't build enough rooms for it - and i am left out because i am the newest of the new and a first year. it's like being a freshman all over again...oh the rejection! =)

in some ways it's good though because i'm off on my own...but it's just down the hall from the rest of them and even though my room is smaller in size overall, the space for student desks is larger than most of the science rooms. i can fill in the student desks in the entire room but the science rooms have less than half the room to fill in 35-40 desks. in the room i was supposed to have, it looked like she could only fit in about 30 desks or so. i also have some more wall space, so i can put up more stuff if i want to. i also have more built in storage space, an extra sliding whiteboard and extra desk space for my computer. i don't think i'll need to buy a bookshelf like i thought before...still thinking about a fridge and microwave, but the language arts office is next to my room and they told me that i could use theirs if i wanted to...very nice. =)

would anyone like to help me in my classroom friday-monday? if i work, work, work then i can get it all done in a short amount of time...i probably won't need to go in the entire weekend but i'm leaving it open just in case. if anyone cares to help, it will mostly be putting up posters and bulletin boards in my room - not as extensive as lisa's room i don't think mainly because i don't have as much stuff. i have a few boxes of materials and supplies that i can hopefully get unpacked this week before friday. things should be quick if people want to see my new classroom and help. it would be much appreciated! i'll treat to lunch and/or dinner if you come... =)

ok, so i'm exhausted and sore because we basically moved out all the furniture in the room because someone else thought they'd have that room but i have it instead...thus the lifting, pushing and moving of heavy furniture. we have a meeting at 730 tomorrow and i want to get there early and maybe put some stuff in the classroom. so i am going to go and vegetate now.. =)

ja mata mokroopals. =)
