well, i've been feeling better lately...things haven't been so bleak. i think just working for dr. kuo makes me go insane...especially when i had no school...but now that i'm back to my regular 10-12 hour work schedule, things will go better i anticipate... =)
school is going ok so far...but it feels like high school. in pol sci, the teacher is abrasive and likes to yell at you...especially if you're a white male...hehe. talk about female angst...but at least she's interesting and no one can fall asleep with her loud voice. we have 3 exams, 1 project involving research on a court case and we are required to subscribe to time magazine for the semester....in bio, the teacher is nice...she got a full scholarship to med school, went to one semester and quit cuz she hated how things were like a business and all about money...she did research for 2 years, but hated it cuz it was boring, got her masters and phd, taught at ucsd for 5 years and now is at goldenwest...she sort of reminds me of me...but obviously a lot smarter...a full scholarship...dang. hehe, anyways, she's nice but it's a lot to keep up with...she gives pop quizzes on material she has yet to cover cuz she wants us to be ahead in the reading...lab is lame and in groups of 4 with occasional half-ass lab reports. and in geology...the teacher is cool...he survived schwann cell cancer...likes to start class of with some sort of inspiration for learning or happiness...but, my only problem is that every class we need to bring a pencil and scantron cuz we watch a video and have a video quiz every single class...at the end of the semester, all points are totaled and is straight scale and he claims that the video points will serve as "free points" in case we do bad on tests...and we have a seating chart...it's pretty lame. it feels like high school...at uci, they give you the reading assignment and you either do it or don't...you take a test to prove yourself...but there's so many checks and balances here...it's insane. i know they just want us to do well, but for goodness sake...let people decide how to do things for themselves...hopefully i will do well in these classes...there's a lot more white people there than i thought there would be...lots of blond girls and guys...and i might add, more attractive guys than at irvine, at least from what i've seen...if you want to find all the vietnamese people, go to bio...hehe. i'd say 90% of my bio lab is viet...she asked what our goals were, and they all said med school and pharmacy...lol. i wanted to yell out...you freaking people will never get in because you can't speak english!! but i didn't...but to hear everyone in their fobby voice say..." i wan be pha-ma-sis" haha..lol. that was freaking hilarious... =)
i hope tutoring will start up soon...they haven't called. i left a message for mike, but who knows when he will reply...should we just show up next week? eh...maybe i will...i dunno. we'll see...but i can't wait to see my kids again... =)
now the important news...my baby gambill won against #9 moya today @ the us open 6-3, 6-3, 6-1... *woohoo!!* =) up next, gaston gaudio from argentina...gambill will so kick ass...hehe. =)
