today was one of the best days ever for me... =) my student luke, whose math level is far below what it should be, passed his exam to get into a school to be a lineman for the power company. =) the first time he took the test he got a 22% and after that he came back to tutoring and i helped him for a few weeks in math...the second time he took the test he got a 64%, which was a great increase but he needed 67% to pass...so today's exam that he took was his last chance. we did lots and lots of problems (i have over 30 pages in worksheets i've made for him) and i knew he would pass but i was still anxious..
anyways, he called me and he told me that he failed...and i couldn't believe it and i was sad, but then he said that he didn't really fail...he passed! i was so excited and happy.. =) he passed with a 94%!! i couldn't believe it...he's just about the nicest guy and he worked so hard and was very diligent about coming to get tutoring. and i think in the last couple of months he started to feel more relaxed and comfortable. he told me that i was the best tutor ever and he said thank you about a million times and that i did so much for him...he was excited and i was double excited...i felt like crying. he said that he'd take a week off from tutoring and that he'd call me and we'd go from there...i'll miss him if he doesn't come back, but even if he doesn't it's ok...i'm just so happy for him... =)
it's just so amazing...it felt so incredible to know that you helped someone and changed their lives and that they appreciate you...it's just the greatest feeling in the world. so i'm happy...and i'm going to stay happy for quite a while =)
